Let’s be honest: if you are paying Disney World prices, you want every possible second of park time squeezed out of that vacation like the last drop of cold brew on a rope-drop morning.
And thankfully, some hotels really do help with that.

The Disney Parks are never stagnant, and some sort of change is always ongoing. Unfortunately, those changes often include the temporary (and permanent) closures of popular rides.
If you’re planning a Disney trip in 2026, you need to be aware that BOTH the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort are going to see a bunch of closures. Between refurbishments, re-themes, seasonal overlays, and a few permanent closures tied to major expansions, several rides across Disney World and the Disneyland Resort will impact your 2026 vacation.
We love Disney World’s skip-the-line service to make sure we can get on all of our favorite rides in one day. But we won’t lie to you – it can become quite a pretty penny!
Disney just confirmed their Lightning Lane prices for March, so we’re helping you sort through it to see if skipping the lines is right for you!
Disney Imagineering just filed not one, but TWO big permits for Disney World!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We all know that Disney World has some MASSIVE expansion plans for the coming years. Over at Magic Kingdom, we’ll eventually see the addition of Villains Land and Piston Peak. In Animal Kingdom, DinoLand U.S.A closed to make way for a new Tropical Americas Land, called Pueblo Esperanza. Then, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’re seeing Monstropolis take over what used to be Muppets Courtyard. Well, we have some news on two of the four lands that are on the horizon — let’s take a look at the details!
DinoLand U.S.A. is under construction to become a newly reimagined Tropical Americas land! This change will bring three brand new rides, along with a new restaurant and stores.
After DINOSAUR’s closure last month, construction has been well underway to get the new land open by next year at Disney World. We’ve got a NEW look at some aerial photos of the construction progress, and it looks like things are moving right along. Let’s check it out!
Your park bag is packed, you know your transportation route, and now you’re ready to rope drop your Disney World park for the day. But before you get there, you should know that certain hotels make it easier to do so.

Magic Kingdom rope drop crowds
Rope dropping is when you show up before the park even opens and are some of the first to get on attractions. Why do guests do this? Because it’s a great shot at some of the lowest wait times of the entire day and a serious head start over the late sleepers. Doing it at Disney World means waking up EARLY, and once you factor in transportation, it’s probably earlier than you planned. Plus, Disney hotel guests get Early Theme Park Entry, so everyone else is already trying to beat the clock, too. After rope dropping from tons of hotels over the years, we’ve learned one thing: if you want to maximize your morning, skip these hotels and choose smarter swaps to save you time.
We love Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom. They have a rotating seasonal menu that keeps things fresh and exciting for regular visitors like us. But did you know they have a secret menu?
Before seasonal menus launch, they sometimes offer sneak peeks while chefs learn to make the new recipes. We tried three of the secret menu items at Yak & Yeti this week!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been going through it lately, and the pain isn’t over just yet!

We’re sure that you remember that DINOSAUR and the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. permanently closed on February 2nd to make way for the new Tropical Americas land. Unfortunately, things are about to get worse at the beloved park, because more closures are just around the corner!
