In 2026, we have already seen an entire land permanently close, rides go down for refurbishment, and construction feels like it’s everywhere at Disney World. As things change, guests need to adapt and change their plans and traditions to still get the most out of their vacation — even in the middle of changes.
The Flower & Garden Festival has hit EPCOT, and the whole park is decked out with bright and colorful flowers, with tons of topiaries and a bunch of people. Wait, a bunch of people?

The first day of every EPCOT festival always welcomes so many guests, happy to get in on the fun. Because of these crowds, Disney decided to try a new system, and well, it didn’t quite work.
For many Walt Disney World guests — especially the early birds — rope dropping the Magic Kingdom (AKA arriving at the park in time to enter as soon as it opens, literally as Cast Members drop the entry rope) is a major mission each trip.

Now, the goals of rope dropping are to get into the park as quickly as possible and, in turn, get to some of the busiest attractions at the park before the crowds descend. Which brings us to the mistake that many attempted rope droppers make…
Your park bag is packed, you know your transportation route, and now you’re ready to rope drop your Disney World park for the day. But before you get there, you should know that certain hotels make it easier to do so.

Rope dropping is when you show up before the park even opens and are some of the first to get on attractions. Why do guests do this? Because it’s a great shot at some of the lowest wait times of the entire day and a serious head start over the late sleepers. Doing it at Disney World means waking up EARLY, and once you factor in transportation, it’s probably earlier than you planned. Plus, Disney hotel guests get Early Theme Park Entry, so everyone else is already trying to beat the clock, too. After rope dropping from tons of hotels over the years, we’ve learned one thing: if you want to maximize your morning, skip these hotels and choose smarter swaps to save you time.

It’s one of the busiest travel seasons of the year, as millions of Americans are out of school and ready to travel. Spring Break crowds can often spread throughout March and April, particularly concentrating in the middle of March and the weeks before and after Easter. So if you’re hoping to travel during that time, what should you know in order to conquer the parks?

Of course, if you want to get on as many rides as possible, the simplest solution is to add on Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass, or Premier Pass to your park tickets. However, Lightning Lane is NOT a free skip-the-line service, and those prices add up fast (some faster than others — looking at you, Premier Pass). While you may be resigned to limiting yourself to just a handful of Magic Kingdom rides per day, it’s important to understand one major truth: getting on Magic Kingdom rides in a reasonable amount of time doesn’t require a ton of extra money spent or a boatload of luck — it requires fantastic time management.
Staying at a Disneyland hotel is a lot different than staying at a Disney World hotel. For starters, you can walk to both of Disneyland’s parks from its hotels. However, Disneyland does not offer hotel rooms at the value resort price point you can get in Disney World (and Disneyland hotels can be quite pricey).

However, Disney tried to make staying at Disneyland hotels a little better by offering an Early Entry Theme Park perk where guests staying at Disney-owned hotels could get into the parks early. However, Disney decided to end that perk in 2026, which is going to create a problem for, well, everyone who visits Disneyland.
As we’ve discussed in the past, there are distinct strategies for rope dropping Walt Disney World’s theme parks. However, the approach to one of the parks is about to change… at least temporarily.
Hollywood Studios
Of all the changes happening at Walt Disney World right now, one park that is changing quite a bit is Hollywood Studios. The park is in the midst of a massive evolution to changes like the new Monsters, Inc. Monstropolis-themed land, the newly revamped Disney Studios area taking over the former Animation Courtyard, and — our focus today — the Muppet takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.
It’s no secret that we love a great Disney World hack. These tips can often save time, sometimes even money, and in general improve your day at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” However, sometimes things can go a bit too far and end up leaving us scratching our heads.
