This Souvenir Costs $21,000 In EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion — No, We Aren’t Joking

One of the most fun things about EPCOT is that all around World Showcase, you can find unique souvenirs from all around the world.

While some of them are Disney-themed, many of them aren’t, and so it makes for a fantastic find if you grab something that’s truly from that country, but just happens to be sold in Disney World. One of our favorite stores in the entire area is Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion. This store has been in existence since 1673, and we love taking a look inside and finding all the fun, special souvenirs we can find. Yesterday, however, we saw something that made our jaws drop — it was a gorgeous necklace…being sold for THOUSANDS of dollars.

Sweet Potato Ice Cream Sandwich?! Come With Us to Try the NEW Viral Treats in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion!

Who doesn’t love eating their way around World Showcase? And the cool thing is that you can get food and drinks OUTSIDE of each pavilion’s restaurants. Many of the pavilions have shops that also feature snacks and drinks from their host countries, too!

Well, one of our favorite spots to shop for such snacks is at Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion. Here, you’ll find LOADS of Japanese treats, and well, we just found some new frozen treats that we HAD to try, although one was actually sweet potato-flavored. Let’s take a look at these treats, and we’ll give you our honest thoughts.

You’re Walking By One of The BEST $17 Souvenirs in EPCOT’s World Showcase

The one thing I absolutely love about World Showcase is the ability to visit countries all over the world without ever having to leave EPCOT. And one of my favorite pavilions is the Japan pavilion because I love Japanese culture, anime, and Japanese art.

It also doesn’t hurt that the Japan Pavilion has the Mitsukoshi Department Store, which is one of the largest shops in EPCOT, and the only Mitsukoshi in the U.S. I can literally wander around that store for HOURS. You can find so many unique souvenirs here, but there’s one that we just HAD to tell you about because it’s inexpensive, customized, and fun.

EPCOT’s 4 Most Unexpected Rules

When it comes to Walt Disney World, there are a lot of rules to follow. Some are officially mandated by Disney, while others are unwritten and unofficial “rules” that guests should be following at Disney’s theme parks, including EPCOT.

For example — no running, no horseplay, no vulgar words or disrespect towards other guests or the workers at the park — these are all the rules you expect, but Disney World parks come with a few additional rules that may have you giving them a second glance. Let’s be real — Disney World ain’t cheap. Sure, there are plenty of deals and discounts you can find on tickets, hotels, and even food. But what about when it comes to those precious Disney World souvenirs?!

As someone who goes to the parks while ballin’ on a budget (do people still say that?) frequently, I’m always on the hunt for unique souvenirs I can bring home that don’t break the bank. So, when I found this $5 souvenir in the Japan Pavilion at EPCOT, I knew I’d be purchasing it immediately — and I’ve continued to do so again and again.

NEWS: The Japan Pavilion Will Look Different During Your Next Trip to EPCOT

CHANGES are happening all over Disney World, and yeah, it’s a lot to keep track of. Magic Kingdom is in the process of getting an updated ride in Frontierland, a new EXPANSION in Frontierland, an updated ride in Tomorrowland, and…oh, an ENTIRELY NEW Land. Hollywood Studios is also getting an updated ride, an updated area, and a new land. Animal Kingdom is getting a new attraction in the Tree of Life, PLUS a new land. Whew — that’s a lot.

However, some changes are happening over in EPCOT, too, although they’re a little less massive. For example, if you visit the Japan Pavilion, you might discover that Garden House, the sake bar in the pavilion, has switched locations — so we’re going to tell you where to find it.

Our Favorite Disney World Store Is Having A HUGE SALE!

So, yes, we love going to Disney World to ride attractions, see parades and fireworks, and eat ALL the food (okay, mostly the latter because THAT’S OUR THING).

But we also love to SHOP in Disney World, especially in EPCOT’s World Showcase, where you can find so many unique items. Now, we absolutely have a favorite store in EPCOT, and it can be found in the Japan Pavilion. Yes, we’re talking about Mitsukoshi because the store is SO huge, and we always find the best Japanese souvenirs there. Well, NOW is the time to visit Mitsukoshi because the store is having a MASSIVE sale.

Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is now OPEN at EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion, but just for walk-ins. Reservations are available for dates starting on August 28th, 2023 and we couldn’t be more excited to check it out. And now, we are one step closer to trying this new table service spot — dining reservations are open!
