STAY TUNED! Disney has announced that there will be PREVIEWS for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets for cast members, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members, and Annual Passholders!

Disney has shared that the attraction will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.”

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — The Story and The Characters

The Muppets are moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over what was Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The Muppets will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.”

Listen up, music — umm, Muppet — fans: You’re going to be treated to a VIP tour of  G-Force Records, which is under new management by The Muppets!

Be prepared for G-Force Records to have a snazzy new look now that Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, is in charge.

The thing is, Electric Mayhem is also lined up to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever… but they’re WAY too busy groovin’ inside G-Force (to “the familiar tunes of Can You Picture That?”) and run the risk of being LATE for the big gig.

And now it’s up to Kermit, Miss Piggy and more pals from the Muppets to find a way to get Electric Mayhem to the concert!

In April 2026, Disney provided a FIRST LOOK at the members of Electric Mayhem as they will be seen somewhere IN the attraction! Get ready to see Dr. Teeth.

He’s accompanied by Zoot.

Lips is in the house!

And they’re joined by none other than Animal!

From here, “Along with the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course), we’ll see Scooter doing his best to convince Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough time to get the band and the town and onstage on time?”

You’ll be able to see the iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown, but with a Muppet twist. Oh, and it sounds like those super-stretch limos will stick around, as Disney teased, “With the help from our friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine, we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.”

This will be the first Disney ride to feature The Muppets and Disney promises “laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.”

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Thrill Level

You’ll be attempting to reach that concert in time with the help of a Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.) as created by Muppet Labs.

The super-powered vehicle will take you through 3 inversions (2 rollover loops and 1 corkscrew) following a 0 to 57 mph launch in 2.8 seconds on this zany ndoor dark roller coaster.

If you’ve enjoyed a ride on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, then you understand the major role that music plays in the attraction. Disney has stated that the retheme will feature the Electric Mayhem playing iconic hits.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Rider Access

It has not yet been announced whether Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will offer a traditional Standby line or a Virtual Queue when it opens.

But it has been confirmed that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be a Lightning Lane Multi Pass Tier 1 option. When purchasing a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios, you’ll be prompted to choose up to 3 multi-pass experiences and arrival windows. The decision for choosing is going to be a little more difficult, as you can only choose ONE experience between Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Additionally, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be open during both Early Theme Park Entry for all Disney World Resort hotels guest and Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort hotel guests.

From the attraction’s queue all the way through to the gift shop as you exit, Disney has shared that “sharp-eyed guests will spot celebrity cameos woven throughout the experience,” as listed below!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard is also getting a makeover with new psychedelic colors!

It’s inspired by the famous car paint job from The Muppets movie, and the piano motif will feature a golden key in reference to the band’s fearless leader. Here’s just a glimpse of what we can currently see…

Additionally, there will be plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard.

The Muppets in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

In August 2024, Disney revealed plans for a Monsters, Inc. land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Then in November 2024, Disney confirmed the upcoming location of the new land. It was shared that Monsters, Inc. land will be taking over the Grand Avenue south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This area was also home to Muppets Courtyard. 

Muppets Courtyard hosted Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and the Muppets-themed PizzeRizzo eatery. The Muppet*Vision 3D attraction, which opened in May of 1991 (when the area was named the Streets of America), was also located in Muppets Courtyard.

To make way for Monstropolis,  a phased closure in the area began in May 2025 and ended on June 8th, resulting in the permanent closure of Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, and PizzeRizzo, as well as Muppet*Vision 3D.

Along with the Monsters Inc. location announcement, Disney revealed that The Muppets would be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, ensuring that The Muppets will still have a presence in Hollywood Studios. 

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith — Closed as of March 2nd, 2026

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith opened on July 29, 1999 in the Sunset Boulevard area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction closed permanently on March 2nd.

To give you an idea of the thrill level of the attraction, riders boarded a “super-stretch limo” to take on this indoor dark roller coaster, which features a thrilling 0 to 57 mph launch in 2.8 seconds and three inversions (two rollover loops and one corkscrew). And it all happened to the tunes of Aerosmith.
