Disney Just Dropped 5 HUGE Announcements About Piston Peak at Magic Kingdom

Well, we just got some HUGE Magic Kingdom news. Now, we were already aware that Disney had plans to close Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island to make room for its new Cars expansion in Frontierland. However, we just got a lot of HUGE news about the new expansion and how it will relate to the rest of the park.

Piston Peak (yep, that’s its name!) will take up space in front of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and bring an entirely new area to the park, as well as two new rides. However, Disney also made some other big reveals about this area that you might have missed, so let’s talk about it.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Extends Hours Ahead of Muppet*Vision 3D Closure

Well, it’s really happening, and maybe we have been in denial, but we can’t deny it anymore: Muppets Courtyard is officially going away to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land.

In fact, we’ve already had to say goodbye to a few Muppets Courtyard institutions, like Mama Melrose’s. We’ll also soon be saying goodbye to the rest of Muppets Courtyard including PizzeRizzo (okay, so we haven ‘t been kind to PizzeRizzo in the past, but we’ll still miss it). However, the hardest thing for us is going to be bidding farewell to Muppet*Vision 3D, but we’ve got some good news: Disney is giving us an extra hour to do so on its final day.

When you think of Disney World, we bet the first thing that comes to mind is Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom WAS the first park in Disney World, after all, and it remains the most iconic. You can’t think of Disney World without Cinderella Castle, after all. Magic Kingdom is also home to a lot of classic attractions, so if you’re visiting Disney World for the first time, Magic Kingdom is probably the park you have the highest expectations for. BEFORE you go to Magic Kingdom, though, we want to make sure you keep those expectations in check.

So it’s no secret that some of our favorite dining in Disney World is actually not in the parks and is, in fact, at Disney World hotels.

Okay, that shouldn’t come as a big surprise because people have been going on about restaurants like Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for years. One Disney World hotel restaurant even has a Michelin Star (yep, that would be Victoria & Albert’s). Well, we’re headed to that very same hotel, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, to try out its quick service location, Gasparilla Island Grill.

Wow…what a week in Disney World. We just got the news that the seasonal foodie celebration, Flavors of Florida, will start soon, and we’re readying our tastebuds for that.

“You’ll Always Be a Part of Me, Muppet*Vision 3D.” A Disney CELEBRITY Just Surprised Us With a NEW Gift to Muppets Fans

Well, it’s really happening, and we’re having a hard time saying goodbye.

Muppets Courtyard has been slowly closing to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’ve already seen the closure of Mama Melrose’s, but on June 7th, both PizzeRizzo (okay, maybe we won’t miss the rat pizza joint) and Muppet*Vision 3D will close forever. Now, we’re going to miss Muppet*Vision 3D A LOT, even if the Muppets are eventually taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We’re not the only ones…a Broadway star recently recorded his own tribute to Muppet*Vision 3D…and yes, it will make you laugh AND cry.
