There is a lot going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now. Muppets Courtyard closed to make way for a brand new Monsters, Inc. land. Animation Courtyard is being reimaged as Walt Disney Studios. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is kicking Aerosmith out so the Muppets can move in.
In October 2025, Vacation Fun at the Mickey Shorts Theater closed for a refurbishment. Now, two months later, that attraction has reopened with one big change…something has returned to the experience.
Vacation Fun is an original animated short film that takes place in the Mickey Shorts Theater. It celebrates some of Mickey and Minnie’s favorite vacation memories and features new animation mixed with clips from other shorts like Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg, and Outback at Ya!
The theater reopened today, and we decided to step inside. This is also a great spot to grab some a/c relief and rest your feet while visiting Hollywood Studios.
The first thing we noticed when we stepped into the theater was that the Potatoland photo op is back. It’s been missing for a hot minute, and the last time we saw it, the space was being used for merchandise during Jollywood Nights. But it’s BACK, baby! Potatoland is a fake theme park Mickey and Minnie built for Goofy because he said he wanted to go there…but it didn’t exist. We wished we had the kind of friends that would build us a theme park!
You’ll find other photo ops throughout the theater’s entrance, too, based on animated Mickey Mouse shorts.
Then it was time to head on into the theater and watch Vacation Fun! The short runs about 11 minutes, in case you were curious.
Be sure to check out Vacation Fun the next time you visit Hollywood Studios. It really is…well…fun!
We’ll keep an eye out for more closures and reopenings in Disney World, so be sure to follow us to stay up to date.
