A now-closed Universal Orlando roller coaster caught fire on the morning of October 10th, according to WESH2 News.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit permanently closed on August 18th, and crews have been working to dismantle it.
As of now, it’s unclear why or how the fire started, but WESH2’s helicopter is on scene while fire crews are working to put the fire out.
The fire appears to be on the main drop part of the coaster structure, in the center of the track. You can see it faintly in the image below.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closed on August 18th to make way for a new attraction that Universal has not yet revealed.
This is a developing story, so we will keep you updated on any additional news. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest theme park news and more.
