CHANGE has made its way to another Disney World park, and it’s starting to look a little empty in one area.

New park map!
We’re in for a revival soon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Between the park’s upcoming attractions at Pueblo Esperanza and Zootopia: Better Zoogether, there’s a LOT to look forward to just on the horizon. This new change is a reflection of the latest closure to the park and a reminder that BIG things are coming.
It’s no secret that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is about to undergo a huge transformation. There have been quite a few closures already around the park, like It’s Tough To Be A Bug and parts of DinoLand U.S.A., which have affected the park’s layout noticeably.

DinoLand U.S.A. construction
But, not only is that reflected as you’re walking around the park, but you can also visualize the changes on the park maps, as well. With the recent closure of The Boneyard playground within DinoLand U.S.A., this meant we would find yet another change to the park’s map.

Park map update
The updated map has removed the attraction from what’s left of DinoLand U.S.A…

DinoLand U.S.A.
…and now only depicts the remaining attractions and restaurants like DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurautosaurus, Trilo-Bites, and Dino-Bite Snacks. The rest of DinoLand is set to close on February 2nd, which is coming up.

Remaining DinoLand U.S.A. offerings
You’re only access to this area is a singular pathway between construction walls over already closed and new walls surrounding the former main entrance to the land and the furthest sides of the now extinct attraction.

Only a pathway to DINOSAUR
It’s a heartbreaking reality of the change that’s already started, but we’re hopeful that the proposed retheming of the entire land will be so spectacular we’ll only miss its former residents a little like a warm memory you revisit. For now, though, there’s still time to visit the remaining remnants of what’s left of DinoLand U.S.A. before we say goodbye to it forever and completely.

In all your stories on AK changes, I don’t think you’ve once mentioned what will happen to the Finding Nemo show in the Dinoland area and as still shown on the map pictured. Will it also ‘go the way of the dinosaurs’ or be moved somewhere else?
Hi Norma. At this time Disney has not said that Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! would be impacted at all, but we are always keeping an eye on it.
Not looking forward to these changes at all. No interest in Pueblo Esperanza or Zootopia. This will be a park we rarely visit in the future.it will be interesting to see how popular these attractions are.
This is one change I’m looking forward to. I love AK but have never cared for Dinoland. I can’t wait for the new land to open. I will miss It’s Tough to be a Bug, but hope the new Zootopia attraction is as good.
