Disney Announces NEW Character Meet and Greet Coming Soon

Disney’s Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure is starting SOON!

We’ve been waiting on the edges of our seats to try these eats and drinks ever since the full menus were released, and we’ve also seen some of the festival booths already popping up around the park. And now, we’re even more excited because Disney just revealed that two new characters will be making their park debut at this festival!

Add another reason to visit Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year Festival to the list! Disney shared that two new characters would be making their Disneyland debut as part of this year’s event!

2023 Lunar New Year Festival

That’s right — Meilin Lee and her mom, Ming Lee, will be greeting and interacting with guests at the 2024 Lunar New Year Festival. You might recognize these two from the Disney and Pixar film, Turning Red, and the characters have Chinese-Canadian heritage, so it’s fitting that they’d make their first appearance during this festival!

The Lunar New Year Festival will run from January 23rd to February 18th this year, giving you just under a month to experience all it has to offer! There will be lots of new eats at the food booths, fun entertainment offerings, merchandise, and more. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at the Disney California Adventure Lunar New Year Festival!
