If you’ve visited EPCOT in the last couple of years, you’re likely very familiar with the fact that there’s a LOT going on in preparation for the park’s 40th anniversary in 2022. EPCOT’s transformation has caused several disruptions when it comes to getting around the park, but we’ve seen some stunning additions as a result, including the park’s new fountain and nighttime lighting!

It constantly feels like there’s something new going on at this park, so let’s take a look at all of the newest findings in EPCOT, from construction updates to new drinks!

EPCOT Construction Updates

As the first sight you see when you enter EPCOT, Spaceship Earth is currently going through a transformation that’s both big and small all at the same time! More external light fixtures have been added to Spaceship Earth! On our most recent visit, we counted around 50 lights now fixed onto the structure.

It looks like progress is moving right along since the first lights were added last month! In addition, the construction walls below Spaceship Earth are gone! With so much construction happening around EPCOT, it’s nice to see when construction walls come down rather than go up!

Back in World Showcase, additional small barges have appeared in the lagoon in preparation for the new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious.

Speaking of Harmonious barges, we also saw them lit up at night on our recent visit! We spotted the barges lit up at night in the past, but seeing them illuminated at night makes it feel more and more like a new nighttime spectacular is coming to Disney World!

We also noticed that some of the construction walls around the Morocco Pavilion come down.

A new structure against one of the walls with a false door can now be spotted in the pavilion.

There’s never a dull moment when it comes to construction happening around EPCOT!

EPCOT Food Updates

On our recent visit, tried one of the newest cocktails to arrive in EPCOT: the Strawberry Basil Cocktail!

This cocktail can be found at Farmer’s Feast, one of the many food booths at this year’s Flower and Garden Festival.

The cocktail is made with Palm Ridge Golden Wheat Whiskey and garnished with Basil Leaves.  For $13, we found this to be a super refreshing addition to the festival! We just wish the basil was muddled rather than just sitting on top as a garnish.

EPCOT Merchandise Updates

House of Good Fortune

Over in the China Pavilion, an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month display can be seen in House of Good Fortune!

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month takes place in the month of May, so it’s exciting to see this display in EPCOT a couple weeks early!

Mitsukoshi

Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion is one of our favorite spots in EPCOT for unique souvenirs! On our recent visit, we found this adorable Hello Kitty and Friends Gudetama AirPod Case for $19.99.

We also spotted this cute Gudetama Avocado Plush!

It’s also available in Mitsukoshi for $24.95.

You can find tons of unique souvenirs like characters from Hello Kitty and other popular Japanese brands at Mitsukoshi, so definitely make it a point to visit this shop on your next visit to EPCOT!
