REVIEW: Disney Cooked Up a WINNER with its NEWEST Snack

Disneyland has an exciting new food offering and if you’re a fan of twists on classic American fare, you’re going to want to check this one out!

The Disneyland Resort is home to several incredible restaurants and we recently visited one of its more underrated ones — GCH Craftsman Grill to try the new hot dog of the month!

GCH Craftsman Grill can be found inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and is a short walk from Disney California Adventure, which is quite literally attached to the hotel. The restaurant offers a limited-time hotdog each month and March’s just happens to be a Pastrami Dog!

Hot Dog of the Month — Pastrami Dog

The March Hot Dog of the Month — Pastrami Dog is made with an all-beef hot dog, pastrami, provolone cheese, pickle spear, chili flakes, and coleslaw tossed in grainy mustard dressing and served with GCH Craftsman Grill’s usual french fries. It is the cheapest entree on the menu and sold for $14.00.

A LOT going on

There’s A LOT going on with this hot dog but we still thought it was pretty good! The first taste you’ll get is of that creamy coleslaw, which is a bit tangy and crunchy while having a kick from the chili flakes. We felt the mustard is good, but not a very prominent flavor, and is slightly too subtle.

It ain’t pretty to look at, but it is nice to taste!

The pastrami is very cheesy (it’s covered in provolone after all) and has a salty flavor added to it as well. We could taste the pepper flavor in our hot dog as well but found it to be manageable and not very spicy. The pickle spear adds a nice dill-flavor crunch while the fries are seasoned with black pepper and taste like crispy potato skins.

Get this hot dog before it disappears!

Overall, we really enjoyed this hot dog and recommend it to all the pastrami and hot dog lovers out there! If either or both of those don’t sound very appetizing to you, GCH Craftsman Grill has a pretty eclectic menu that could feature something else you would like, so give it a visit!
