Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
The holiday season in Disney World (which lasts from early November through early January) is one of the BUSIEST times of year to visit. Fans flock from all over the world to watch it snoap on Main Street, U.S.A., and to ogle at life-size gingerbread creations and 50-foot Christmas trees. It’s tradition! But there’s another tradition this time of year that people don’t tend to love…the parking crackdown!
Disney World as a whole is gorgeous during the holiday season. There are decorations all over, special holiday snacks to enjoy around the parks and hotels, and if you head to a particular hotel, you may even notice some ADDITIONAL decorations you can only see there.
Fort Wilderness during the holiday season!
If you head over to Fort Wilderness, you’ll find numerous holiday decorations up, just like the other hotels, but there’s something very specific to be on the lookout for. You’ll know EXACTLY what they are when you find them — trust us, they’re hard to miss!
If you’re sick and tired of that bar soap slipping out of your hands when you’re washing your hands in the sink at your Disney World hotel, you’ll never believe what could be on the way.
This is a BIG day
We heard a report from a friend of ours that pump soap could be arriving at various Disney World hotel room bathrooms, and we knew we needed to check it out ourselves. So, we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to check it out ourselves, and were NOT disappointed!
We’re thrilled that Disney’s newest hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, is still underway, because for a moment there, it didn’t look like it would ever happen!

This new hotel will be opening in 2027, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction updates. From what we’ve seen, the main hotel building is coming along well, but now we’ve gotten an updated look at the pool area, which includes a lazy river, and we’re ALREADY looking forward to relaxing.
Disney World might be the Most Magical Place on Earth, but sometimes booking a hotel there can feel like stepping into a maze.
Construction at the Beach Club
There is so much happening at the resorts right now that even seasoned Disney fans can get caught off guard. Construction, refurbishments, transportation closures, and even pool downtime can seriously affect your trip if you do not know what to expect. If you are in the process of booking a hotel, here is everything you need to look out for before you hit confirm on that reservation.
We’ve got some rough news for those who were hoping to stay at a fully refurbished Contemporary Resort soon.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Construction is currently ongoing ALL around Disney World Resort, and while it’s all to make things better, more exciting, and add more value to the parks for guests, when it’s all happening at the same time? That can get a little rough! We’ve been keeping a close eye on the refurbishment happening over at the Contemporary Resort, and it looks like something unfortunate has happened — the construction has just been extended yet again, now meaning it’s going to take over three years to complete this project.
There are lots of Disney World hotel pools, but they’re certainly not all created equally. Some of them are totally out of this world, like the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, while others are just…meh.
Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Fort Wilderness
Previously, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Fort Wilderness Resort was pretty in the middle — it wasn’t fantastic, and it wasn’t bad either, but now it’s under refurbishment, and the plan is the DOUBLE the size of the pool area. Disney hadn’t yet announced when they expected this construction to be complete, but now we’ve got a timeline!

Wailulu Bar & Grill
Wailulu Bar & Grill is the newest restaurant to open at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, located at the new Island Tower. This isn’t your typical pool bar — it features an all-day menu for lunch and dinner, plus specialty coffee and on-the-go morning pastries available for breakfast. Up until now, this restaurant has been first-come, first-served, but that’s all changing in December.
There are tons of ways to make your Disney days more magical! From firework cruises to Lightning Lanes, there are tons of different ways to upgrade your trip.
