There are lots of Disney World hotel pools, but they’re certainly not all created equally. Some of them are totally out of this world, like the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, while others are just…meh.
Previously, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Fort Wilderness Resort was pretty in the middle — it wasn’t fantastic, and it wasn’t bad either, but now it’s under refurbishment, and the plan is the DOUBLE the size of the pool area. Disney hadn’t yet announced when they expected this construction to be complete, but now we’ve got a timeline!
Construction on this project began in May 2025, and now we know it’s set to be completed in mid-2026. The best part about this refurbishment, when comparing it to other projects around Disney World, is that while Disney works on expanding the area, the pool itself will remain OPEN for guests throughout this project!
But what exactly is this project? The original pool area is staying the same, but it’s the additions that are really changing things for this pool. Disney is adding a new zero-entry pool and deck area, as well as a tennis court and two pickleball courts! Now THAT’S an expansion we love to see.
Currently, the Disney World website states that during this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited, and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. If you’re using bus transportation to get around, you’ll want to follow posted signage to make your way to the pool.
