A popular Disney World restaurant is officially closing its doors next month, and it’s going to change how guests eat in Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a while. We finally have firm dates, plus details on where that familiar food is heading next. If Restaurantosaurus has ever been part of your Animal Kingdom routine, you’ll want to know exactly what’s happening and when.

We know how easy it is to miss big closure news when you’re focused on planning dining, park days, and where you’re staying. Disney has officially confirmed the permanent closing date for DINOSAUR, and there is now a very real last day to ride. Kids’ Meal at Restaurantosaurus!
We’re getting closer and closer to saying goodbye to DinoLand U.S.A. before it permanently closes for good in Animal Kingdom on February 2nd, 2026 — making way for Pueblo Esperanza, the new Tropical Americas-themed land. We’ll miss this section of the park — especially the thrilling ride DINOSAUR. However, losing Restaurantosaurus hurts just as bad, especially since it means we’ll also be losing a free souvenir!
There are some really great restaurants at Disney World. Are they all showstoppers? No, but you can definitely find quite a few that we will run back to over and over. Places like Columbia Harbour House for the Hushpuppies, Flame Tree Barbecue for some fries, and, of course, Garden Grill for the family-style dinners are among our favorites.
Pulled Pork Fries
While there are so many great options, there are a few that are pretty basic, even if they are popular. We’re talking puffy-crust pizza, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips. As much as we love several spots in Animal Kingdom for a bite, there’s one of these more basic restaurants that might be confusing about why so many Disney World fans are now running there ASAP.

Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Almost the entirety of Disney World is under construction right now. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is building a new animation courtyard, moving The Muppets to Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, and adding Monsters Inc. to where Muppet’s Courtyard used to be. Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom is getting ready to start building Piston Peak and Villains Land. Then, there’s Animal Kingdom, which will be going through a MASSIVE change!

One of the ones we’re most excited about is the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show coming to the Tree of Life Theatre! This new show will debut on November 7th, along with a new meet and greet with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps just outside the Tree of Life area, but we’ve wondered for a while if there will be any previews for Annual Passholders or DVC members. Now, we finally have our answer!

In fact, there aren’t too many places we would rather be than Animal Kingdom during a trip to Disney World most of the time. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t cringey things that sometimes have us rethinking walking through the entrance.

As part of the Tropical Americas addition coming to Animal Kingdom, DinoLand U.S.A. will be replaced by Pueblo Esperanza, a new land headlined by rides based on Encanto and, yes, Indiana Jones. Unfortunately, we have some bad news about the latter.

The Boneyard
We’ve seen a lot of loss lately around Disney World, and we’re back again to update you with yet another that we knew was well on its way out. In between losing Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Belle Riverboat, and draining the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom to make way for new land expansions, we’ve also seen parts of DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom already affected by its upcoming overhaul, too. Now, we’re bringing you the latest attraction to close forever in DinoLand U.S.A., and we have to admit this one made us shed a few tears, too!
