It’s been a year of construction at Disney World, and we’re not talking just about the four parks, but tons of Disney World Resort hotels as well!
Treehouse Villa
One of the projects we’ve been following in particular is over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, which has some of Disney World’s most unique and cool hotel rooms, the Treehouse Villas! The villas are massive and can house a big party on vacation. That being said, Disney (and we) knew it was time for a renovation. Well, after some time of refurbishment, Disney Imagineering shared a look inside the NEW Treehouse Villas!
Disney Imagineering took to social media to share a look at the new Treehouse Villas. They said the villas reflect how Imagineers balance storytelling, nature, and craftsmanship when building spaces. In the video, Imagineers took viewers inside the contract model room, and it looked gorgeous!

Two Imagineers in the video shared how the team was inspired by the use of natural materials, organic color palettes, and wood carvings. They even showed us a little carving of Gus Gus from Cinderella.

The concept of the new villas is heavily based on Disney animation, as Imagineers looked at the past 100 years of Disney animation to figure out which characters might want to show up or live at the treehouse. We noticed some of the artwork in the video features characters from Cinderella, Tangled, and more!

They take the concepts and get to work in the virtual model room, where they bring the ideas to life in a virtual 3D space. After that, they go to the functional model room, where they actually test out the functionality of everything in the space.

That brings them to the final stage, which is the contractor model room (which is the room they take you inside in the video). This room is the real model where they can look at everything during the process, come to life.

Refurbishment work will continue to take place in phases at Saratoga Springs Resort, from now through late September 2026. This includes the refurbishments for the Treehouse Villas. If you’re staying at the resort, you may see or hear construction work during the daytime hours.
