Many things at Disney World are often in a state of flux, including the resort’s dining offerings. From ever-rotating menus and offers to a whole new dining plan tier coming in 2027, things are always changing.
Those changes can, in turn, often affect Disney World dining tips, sometimes even making them null and void. So if you’re heading to Disney World anytime soon, be wary that these once viable hacks are no longer usable.
Dining Plan Credit Conversion
There once was a time when guests who purchased Disney Dining plans could swap their credits; for example, they could exchange or convert a quick-service dining credit into snack credits if they were more interested in shopping for, say, some chocolate instead of a quick-service meal on a given day. However, this option is no longer available.
As an answer from Plan Disney bluntly put it, “The current terms of the Disney Dining plans no longer allow for that. Your specific dining entitlements will vary with the type of Dining plan included in your vacation package reservation.”
So, if you’re planning on booking a Disney Dining Plan for your next trip, you’ll want to stay up on all the latest rules and restrictions on credits. That’s why we created this Disney Dining Plan Guide! It walks you through how it actually works, which restaurants give you the best value, and how to make the most of every credit.
Mobile Ordering
Since Mobile Ordering became a major part of Disney World’s dining infrastructure in the last decade, the system has constantly been tweaked and changed over the years.
For example, these days, guests generally can’t Mobile Order at Disney World hotels if they’re physically at one of the theme parks. So, say you’re in EPCOT, and you’ve decided to try Mobile Order at the Contemporary’s Contempo Cafe; you’ll get the proverbial “big red X” on the My Disney Experience App.
Of course, circling back to where we started, change is inevitable. There’s a chance that these defunct Disney tips may become usable again sometime in the future. That’s why you need to stay tuned to DFB for the most up-to-date news on Disney’s dining offerings.
