Refillable Mugs are kind of a big deal around Disney World — and there’s a NEW one in town. Well, sort of.
Disney World Refillable Mugs (or Rapid Refill Mugs as they’re sometimes called) are available for guests to purchase and use for free refills at Disney World hotels throughout their vacation, and they can save you a TON of money if you’re a big soda, coffee, tea, or juice drinker. These 16-oz insulated coffee mugs sold at Disney hotels are popular, but this new design might just be the most popular one yet!
A new Refillable Mug has rolled into Disney World hotels — and artist Jerrod Maruyama designed them! Maruyama is a freelance illustrator who has made a name for himself within the Disney community because of his unique yet adorable take on classic characters and icons that we all know and love. A brand-new Disney popcorn bucket designed by him was just released in the parks, and we’re thrilled to see this new Refillable Mug design of his popping up as well!
Here’s the thing, though: the new design hasn’t rolled out to all Disney World hotels yet, which means they might be hard to find. Not only that, but the mugs that had previously been spotted at Pop Century Resort have since sold out — even though a Cast Member confirmed to us that they weren’t even supposed to be put out on the floor yet.
So, we headed to Disney’s Polynesian Resort to see if we could find the new mugs there, and we struck out. They had been there, but they sold out here as well, according to Cast Members.
We also tried the Grand Floridian, and struck out there, too…
…along with the Contemporary Resort. It seems as though this new mug design will be rolling out slowly but surely, so we’ll definitely keep our eyes out!
“Refillable mugs” are 16 oz. insulated coffee mugs sold at Disney hotels in the hotel’s primary Counter Service location. Guests are entitled to unlimited free refills on fountain drinks, coffee, and tea from participating beverage locations at Disney resorts for their length of stay up to 14 days.
These mugs are enhanced by an RFID barcode, which enables the mug to deactivate when the designated time is complete, and they are available for one flat price of $22.99 for the length of resort stay of up to 14 days, no matter how many days.
We’ll be on the lookout for the Jerrod Maruyama Refillable Mug at more Disney World hotels; we’re at Disney World every single day, so if anyone can find them — it’s us! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond.
