Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re pretty obsessed with festival food. We love going from booth to booth and picking up limited-time snacks in those little paper dishes. Disneyland’s Lunar New Year Festival is officially here, and we’re trying all the food!
We stopped by Prosperity Bao & Buns in Disney California Adventure to see what’s in store — what’s new, what’s returning, and what you can’t miss when you visit. The festival is packed with exclusive meet and greets, special entertainment, and merchandise, and we’re exploring it all. Let’s see if Prosperity Bao & Buns should be on your “must-visit” list.
This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of independence, energy, and strength at Disney California Adventure until February 22nd. These snacks are only here for a limited time, so you want to make sure you don’t miss out on some great food!
Menu
Let’s see what Prosperity Bao & Buns, located near the Performance Corridor, is serving up for the festival this year.
Now that we know what we’re ordering, let’s dive in!
Eats
We started with the Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao with pickled red onions and jalapeño for $9.25, a returning snack. It’s vibrant and colorful, but the flavors are sweet and spicy. The jalapeños add a nice kick, while the pickled onions add some tanginess and crunch. The pork is tender and flavorful. However, the bun gets soggy quickly, so you’ll want to dig in fast!
Also returning, we grabbed the Kung Pao Bao with plant-based chicken, toasted peanuts, and scallions for $9. You can’t tell this is plant-based, at all. The “chicken” has a great texture and flavor, and the peanuts add a wonderful nutty flavor, as well as some nice crunch. We were a little worried this could be a little spicy, but it’s not spicy at all, so this is one of those dishes that could please a lot of folks. The bao is soft and fresh.
Drinks
There are four new drinks available this year, including Brewery X, Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer for $15.25, the Coronado Brewing Co., Nado Premium Rice Lager for $17, Harland Brewing Co., Lucky Horse for $18.50, and Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange for $18.50.
We grabbed the Year of the Horse Beer Flight, which includes the Brewery X Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer, Coronado Brewing Co. Nado Premium Rice Lager, Unsung Brewery Company Photo Nuclear Orange Wheat Ale, and Harland Brewing Co. Lucky Horse West Coast IPA for $19.25.
The Brewery X, Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer has a lovely grapefruit flavor, and really doesn’t taste like alcohol at all. It’s crisp and dry. The Coronado Brewing Co., Nado Premium Rice Lager tastes like a typical lager with a simple beer taste, but it’s also refreshing. The Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange was probably our favorite because it tastes like a Creamsicle. The orange flavor is really fun and the beer itself is smooth and creamy. The Harland Brewing Co., Lucky Horse has a nice fruity scent and flavor, but with some hoppiness that takes away from the fruit flavors a bit.
Overall
This could already be one of our favorite booths at the festival. We really enjoyed both dishes available here, and the beers are great, especially the Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange, which we think even non-beer drinkers might appreciate! This is a booth you don’t want to skip.
We’re trying everything at the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival in Disneyland, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews so you know what to get when you visit.
