Don’t look now, but the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure is already here! We’re so excited to party, and we’re going to give you all the details on everything this festival has to offer you.
This year, the celebration will run from January 23rd through February 22nd. At least…that’s what we thought. We just went to Disney California Adventure, and the festival has started EARLY. So, we’re trying out all the food and drinks, checking out the entertainment, and taking a glance at the merchandise — and we’re taking you with us!
The Lunar New Year Festival celebrates Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culture, and we’ll be the first to say that this festival needs to get talked about a LOT more than it does. The festival has so much to offer — why don’t you take a look!
But let’s talk about the food and drinks (because you know that’s a big part of why we’re here!)
Eats, Treats, and Drinks
There are so many festival booths around the park, with so many tasty things we NEED to try every year. So, the first thing we always do when we get to the festival is grab a festival Tasting Passport. It acts as a guide to everything going on during the festival — including a map of every food booth with each menu, where to find entertainment, and more.
If you’re planning on getting food and drinks at the festival booths (like, a lot of food and drinks), we recommend getting the Sip and Savor Pass. It gives you six digital coupons that can be redeemed for food and non-alcoholic beverage items at the food booths. It’s super useful for those wanting to get a lot or going for multiple days.
Lastly, there will be marketplaces around that aren’t festival booths, but have great offerings during the celebration.
Entertainment
Ah, how do we even get started on the amazing and unique entertainment offered during this festival?! This year, the festival will have Mulan’s New Year Procession, which features music and costumed performers doing traditional Chinese dances. We know what you’re thinking, and yes, the show will feature Mulan, Mushu, and other beloved Disney characters.
The nighttime show is called Hurry Home — A Lunar New Year Celebration. It’s a pre-show that accompanies World of Color during the festival.
Special Character Meet and Greets
Like all good Disney festivals, you’ll have the opportunity for some special and exclusive character meet-and-greets! We haven’t met any special characters yet, but the photo op locations are all set up!
You’ll want to keep an eye out for these special character interactions.
Merchandise
Oh, and we can’t forget about the exclusive merchandise. There’s a lot you’ll want to splurge on this year. We’ll be shopping the collection soon, and we’ll share all the photos with you!
We’re going to be at the festival checking out everything, so make sure that you’re staying tuned to the Disney Food Blog to get all the insight into the celebration.
