In 2025, a NEW hotel perk was introduced where you can get free entry into the Disney World water parks!
Blizzard Beach
Those staying at Disney World Resort Hotels get free entry to a Disney World water park on their check-in day, and recently, you’ve had the choice of going to Blizzard Beach OR Typhoon Lagoon because both parks have been open at the same time. But now, that has changed!
As of September 8th, 2025, Blizzard Beach is closed for the season. Ever since the pandemic, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon have typically been operating seasonally, taking turns being open. This summer was the first time in years that they were open at the same time.

So if you’re visiting Disney World soon and hoping to use your free water park visit, Typhoon Lagoon will be your only option. Disney hasn’t yet announced when Blizzard Beach will reopen or if Typhoon Lagoon will have a seasonal closure. The Blizzard Beach closure comes as the weather starts to cool off, so it’s likely that the demand for the water parks will decrease overall.

Keep in mind that as we get into the winter months, water parks may close due to cold weather. So if you’re hoping to do a swim and you’re traveling toward the end of the year, you may want to be flexible with your plans.
