Although Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” things don’t always run smoothly in the parks, but that’s just how things go. For example, if bad weather is in the area, outdoor rides will close as a precaution.
You also can’t account for things like crowds or ride closures. Now, we all know that one of the best ways to avoid long lines for popular rides in Disney World could be arriving at the parks for rope drop, but this morning, rope drop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios wasn’t going so smoothly.
When we arrived at Hollywood Studios this morning for rope drop, things were…well, they were a little rough. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was closed this morning, and you couldn’t book a Lightning Lane for the ride through Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Now, maybe that means all the Lightning Lanes have been booked up (and with the ride closing next year, it could be people wanting to get in as many rides as possible), but we just wanted to warn you in case you’re headed to Hollywood Studios today.
Slinky Dog Dash was also having issues. It was open for Early Theme Park Entry, but closed right before regular park opening. It eventually reopened with a 45-minute wait, and there was an announcement that one of the trains had to be taken off line, so the ride was only running at half capacity. This bumped the wait time up to a whopping 95 minutes and then to 120 minutes. However, as the morning progressed, that wait time has gone back down and was sitting around 30 minutes. So that issue may have been resolved.
We just wanted to give you a heads up if you are heading to Hollywood Studios today. Hopefully, the rest of the day will go more smoothly than rope drop.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
