All aboard for a FULL stateroom tour from our recent Disney Cruise Line sailing!
We recently sailed on the Disney Fantasy, which officially joined the Disney Cruise Line fleet back in 2012. Our days were PACKED with tons of amazing experiences, like live performances, games, and, of course, a ride on the AquaDuck. Plus, our sailing included a Pixar Day at Sea, which meant even more Pixar-themed fun, like characters, music, and specialty food! But, as exciting as all the activities are, we know that it can be just as important to know what you can expect to come back to after a full day of fun. That’s why we’re taking you on a FULL TOUR of our stateroom on the Disney Fantasy!
On our Disney Fantasy cruise, we stayed in a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, which can sleep three to four guests.
Since our sailing included a Pixar Day at Sea, we got the Pixar room decor package, which was offered for purchase separately. It included tons of fun Pixar-themed keepsakes, which you get to take home at the end of the cruise!
The package included bedclothes, like a bed runner and pillowcases…
…plus Pixar decor for the rest of the room! Since you get to keep everything included, an add-on package like this can double as both a fun way to add even more character to the room and an extra souvenir at the end of the trip.
Now, let’s look at all of the standard features of the room! The Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom includes a queen bed that sleeps two people.
Plus, the couch can be converted to a single sofa bed.
Here’s what it looks like when converted to a sofa bed! With the queen and sofa bed, our room slept three people, but there are some staterooms that sleep four people, which also have a pull-down bed.
The room has a 2-door “split bathroom” with a vanity, sink, and toilet on one side…
…and a vanity, sink, shower, and combination tub/shower on the other side. Bathrooms are infamously tiny on most cruise lines, so having a split bathroom AND a full tub is a pretty big deal!
The doors to the bathroom are in the hallway right inside the stateroom door, and there are closets on the opposite side.
The closets are stocked with hangers, and that’s also where you’ll find life vests and a safe for storing valuables.
As far as additional places to unpack your clothes, there are drawers and extra shelf space across from the bed.
There are drawers and more shelves surrounding the desk, too, which is also where you’ll find the stateroom TV and a large mirror.
Pull out the drawer on the top of the desk for postcards, stationery, and safety information!
The desk also houses the room’s mini-fridge, hidden behind the door on the left-hand side.
And if you need a place to store your suitcases after you’ve unpacked, there’s space under the bed to slide your luggage.
The room is decorated with ocean-themed touches, including artwork that features Disney Cruise Line ships and nautical flags.
There are also cruise ships dotting the world map lampshades on the bedside lamps. And, of course, lots of not-so-hidden Mickeys lining the bottom!
The verandah doors on the far side of the room lead out to a private balcony with two chairs and a small table, so you can relax and enjoy the ocean views!
Can’t beat sitting on a private verandah with a drink in hand!
Staterooms on cruise ships are usually notoriously small, so we were impressed with the amount of space this room has, especially the bathroom and storage/counter space. We also loved all the nautical touches throughout the room, which perfectly set the tone for a sailing adventure.
