Have you heard about the BIG change coming to Magic Kingdom tomorrow?

Cinderella Castle
One attraction is finally reopening after being completely updated, but you might want to AVOID this park, at least for a few days.
Tomorrow — September 15th — the NEW Mirabel meet-and-greet opens in Fairytale Garden! We can’t wait to meet the Encanto character, and we’re sure that a LOT of other people want to meet her on the first day, too.

Mirabel!
If the crowds at this new attraction are anything like the crowds that turned up for the new Figment meet-and-greet in EPCOT on September 10th, we can expect LONG wait times.

Look at that line!
When Figment started greeting guests in the Imagination pavilion just a few days ago, the line got up to about five hours long before Cast Members had to cut it off. Could we see a similar situation in Magic Kingdom?

This is where the Figment meet and greet is located
Figment has a pretty strong following among EPCOT fans, so we weren’t shocked to see tons of people show up for the purple dragon. However, Encanto is a very popular movie, plus it’s relatively new, so we could see the Mirabel meet-and-greet drawing a big crowd as well!

Over in EPCOT, the wait times for Figment have dropped pretty dramatically — tons of people came the first couple of days, and now the excitement seems to have mellowed out a little bit. So, if you’re hoping to meet Mirabel without the super long lines, we’d recommend going to Magic Kingdom a few days AFTER her meet-and-greet begins.

Fairytale Garden
We’re sure that tons of people will show up for the first day, and then they’ll likely stick around after they meet Mirabel, which means that wait times for other attractions and rides throughout the park could be longer than normal as well.

If you’re not worried about meeting Mirabel on the very first day of her meet-and-greet, we think the best plan is to give it a few days and let the initial excitement die down a bit before going in to say hello. The wait times will probably drop after she’s been there for a while. Although Disney hasn’t said exactly how long Mirabel will be in Magic Kingdom, we expect her to stick around for a pretty long time. Fairytale Garden has been completely updated and decorated for her arrival, so it looks like this is not a temporary change. You should have plenty of time to meet her!

Mirabel isn’t the only Encanto character arriving in Magic Kingdom tomorrow. Her uncle Bruno is joining the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade! This cavalcade usually happens at 5:10PM and 6:25PM each day, but make sure to check the My Disney Experience app to find out when it’ll run on the day you’re visiting.

If you’re hoping to meet Mirabel soon, head to Fairytale Garden, which is located just to the right of Cinderella Castle (if you’re facing the castle) in Fantasyland. This spot used to be the Merida meet-and-greet (the princess from Brave), but Merida has moved and is now meeting guests at the Liberty Square Enchanted Glade Gazebo.

Don’t forget that even more Magic Kingdom updates are on the way, including the arrival of the Hatbox Ghost in Haunted Mansion! This spooky character will materialize in late November of this year.

During the recent Destination D23 event, Disney also teased a HUGE expansion of this park, which could include new lands themed to Coco, Encanto, and/or Disney villains. Those changes are not confirmed yet, though — Disney describes them as “Blue Sky” projects, which means they’re in the very early stages of development and the concepts could change quite a bit before any final plans are made.
