We’ve seen a LOT of changes over the past few years in Disney World, and we’re STILL seeing a lot of changes.
EPCOT is still undergoing its massive transformation (we’re still waiting to see the new Moana water attraction!). The Spirit of Aloha show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been demolished to make way for new Disney Vacation Club rooms. The Finding Nemo show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently reopened as a new UPDATED show. Now, that show takes center stage on Animal Kingdom’s NEW map!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom map used to look like this — with the EARidescent-lit Tree of Life on the front… .
A new map, though, turned up today that features a scene from the updated Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! show!
The back basically looks the same, with health and safety information, as well as details on the My Disney Experience app.
Inside, though, you’ll find some differences, too. Here’s what the old map looked like –– it mentioned the then-NEW Kite Tails and had a photo of the 50th anniversary gold Simba statue on it!
The NEW map still has some details on Kite Tails, but also has some information about the new Finding Nemo show! And Simba has been replaced with the 50th anniversary Nemo and Dory golden statue!
The show is also on the actual map itself and listed as “New.”
Adventurers Outpost has also listed on the new map — the Mickey and Minnie meet and greet recently returned here!

Instead of listing A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King, the show is now listed as Festival of the Lion King. That’s because the full version of the show recently returned with tumble monkeys and acrobatic birds!

So if you’re headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, be sure to pick up a new map! If you’re looking for even MORE details about Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!, we were there on opening day — get details and photos here!
Want to watch another show at Animal Kingdom, don’t miss the newly reopened Festival of the Lion King, which just brought back two acrobatic elements to the show! You can also still catch Kite Tails, as well as a lot of live music throughout the park.
