There are all kinds of new things coming to Disney World soon, like the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster, the TRON: Lightcycle Run ride, and the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction. But some existing attractions are getting updates and changes as well!
Those updates sometimes mean that certain things are closed at the Disney World parks and hotels. To make sure you’ve got all the info you need before your upcoming trip, let’s take a look at all the closures for next week!
Magic Kingdom
The Walt Disney World Railroad is currently closed in Magic Kingdom, and Disney hasn’t announced yet when it might reopen. One of the main reasons for the attraction’s closure is construction happening over in Tomorrowland on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run coaster.
Because that construction interrupted the Railroad’s tracks, the train can’t pass through that area right now. We’re estimating that the Railroad won’t reopen until construction is complete, and Disney hasn’t given an opening date for TRON quite yet. We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear any updates about these two attractions!
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also closed in this park. Disney has announced that the boutique will open sometime in 2022, although they didn’t give a specific opening date.
The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, U.S.A., will reopen on July 31st, 2022! This shop will begin accepting reservations again starting on June 28th.
You can book appointments for an adult haircut, child’s haircut, or the special “My First Haircut” experience (for toddler-aged kids).

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In Animal Kingdom, Finding Nemo: The Musical is currently closed. This show is going to reopen sometime this summer, but it’ll be updated and re-named. The new show is called “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!”
The updated show is going to feature characters from Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory movie.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is closed in Hollywood Studios, and Disney hasn’t announced when it might reopen.
The popular nighttime show Fantasmic! is also still closed in this park, but we do have a reopening timeline for this show at least! Disney has said it will return sometime in 2022.
This show will also be getting some updates, including new characters, technology, and stunts.
Find out more about the Fantasmic! updates here.
Disney World Water Parks
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is closed. Disney hasn’t announced yet when it might reopen.
Disney has another water park, though, so never fear! Typhoon Lagoon is currently open for guests to visit.
Check out the updated schedule for Typhoon Lagoon here.
Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Cast Members are currently working on building 200 new DVC Resort Studios in the Big Pine Key building. Other rooms at the hotel are still open for guests to book.
The new rooms have a Mary Poppins Returns theme and are expected to open in late June of this year. You can book your spot now if you want to stay in the rooms once they open!
Take a virtual tour of the new rooms here!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort also has some construction going on as the hotel is working on a whole new building of DVC villas on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon.
Unfortunately, the new building is going to be located where the Spirit of Aloha dinner show used to be, so this show has been permanently closed. The new villas are expected to open sometime in late 2024.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds
At Fort Wilderness, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has been closed for a while, but it’s going to reopen soon!
Reservations will open up on Disney World’s website starting May 26th, 2022, and shows will begin starting June 23rd.
