The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is finally here, and it’s time to celebrate!
We’ve checked out new fireworks shows and we’ve shopped the new merchandise, but now it’s time to try the snacks! We’re stopping by Disney’s Animal Kingdom to check out some new treats and share our thoughts with you.
At Creature Comforts, the park’s Starbucks location, you’ll find a few new offerings for the 50th Anniversary. First of all, one of our favorites, the Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll, got a blue icing makeover!
You can snag this treat for $7.49. Ours had a little bit more icing than the usual version of this cinnamon roll and it tasted a little fresher.
Also, there are two brand-new options — first, the 50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome. This treat is made with a “chocolate brownie base with gold-dusted chocolate sprinkles, and birthday cake-flavored mousse with gold-dusted Mickey ears and a gold-dusted 50th Anniversary medallion.”
You can purchase the dome for $5.99 and we did just that — look how pretty it is!
As far as taste goes, this treat is our favorite of the 50th offerings at Creature Comforts! The birthday cake mousse was a very classic yet fun dessert and went SO well with the chocolate cake. Plus, it’s fun that you have the birthday flavors for Disney World’s birthday! Although this was our favorite of the bunch, none of these treats were rockstars. We’d recommend grabbing something else in the park!
The other new offering here is the 50th Celebration Cupcake for $5.99! This cupcake is a lemon-filled lemon cupcake with vanilla frosting. Plus, there’s a Mickey and 50th medallion on top.
This treat is SUPER lemony. The lemon flavor was delicious and didn’t taste artificial at all, but you have to really like lemon to like this treat. If that’s your jam, this cupcake could be right up your alley!
