Wow! We’ve had some BIG news today about Disney World’s upcoming Galactic Starcruiser, aka the Star Wars hotel.

Not only do we now know the hotel’s opening timeline (spring 2022!), but we’ve got even MORE details about what guests can expect when they stay at the hotel, and we’ve even seen what the food will look like!
Of course, this isn’t actually a hotel — it’s a two-night interactive cruise-like experience that lets guests be part of their own Star Wars story. That means they’ll get to immerse themselves in a Star Wars world, unlike anything we’ve seen before. But here’s the thing, will guests HAVE to be part of the story if they don’t want to? What if guests just want to experience everything without having to participate in whatever the more interactive elements require?

Disney recently confirmed that guests do NOT have to participate in the story if they choose not to. Instead, they can just sit back, relax, and watch the story unfold. Introverts, rejoice!

In fact, it sounds like Disney will allow you to hop in and out of the story as you want to, depending on your mood. The company said, “You can be as casual about this as you want or dive as deeply as you want to.” So if your thing is just hanging out in your sweat pants to enjoy a drink in the Sublight Lounge or go full-on costume to roleplay a Star Wars character while exploring the Starcruiser’s many features, it’s up to you.

The Galactic Starcruiser will have its own unique story that hasn’t been seen in the Star Wars universe yet, but Disney promises that there will be “many different ways to engage” and “you don’t have to participate if you don’t want to.” So basically, the experience will be fun and doesn’t depend on your level of participation in the story.
We’re covering all things about the Star Wars hotel, so stay tuned!
