In fact, there are some situations where buying Lightning Lanes may not make much sense at all. Here are five times you may want to think twice before hitting that “purchase” button.

1. If You’re on a Strict Budget

If you’re visiting Disney World on a tight budget, Lightning Lane passes may not be the best use of your money. These add-ons can quickly add up, especially for families, and when you factor in the cost per person per day, it can significantly increase the total price of your vacation. If your priority is sticking to a spending limit, you may find more value in allocating those funds toward dining experiences, souvenirs, or even an extra park day instead. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is often considered the park where Lightning Lanes are the least necessary. Aside from a couple of major headliners, many wait times here are manageable, especially if you arrive early or plan your day strategically.
