Avengers Campus officially opens TOMORROW!

And although we’ve already been able to preview the land and bring you ALL the details on the eats, merch, rides, and more, we couldn’t be more excited for the big day. But yesterday, Disney streamed the opening ceremony LIVE for us all to watch…and we got to witness a very special moment!

The event was a super cool way to go into the land and learn more about what we can expect. The flying Spider-Man even made an appearance! But towards the end of the ceremony (and before that BIG grand finale), we got to see the NEW Captain America on the campus for the very first time.

Anthony Mackie himself came on onstage to speak about what being Captain America means to him. He said, “When Sam Wilson finally became Captain America, it was a moment that was all about the future. A moment where kids of all races can look at Captain America and maybe see a little bit of themselves.” He added, “Captain America belongs in Avengers Campus.”

But what made it even BETTER was when Mackie introduced the new Captain America onto the Campus, and even passed him the shield.

For the first time, we got to see the new Captain America in the parks — likely demonstrating that we’ll get to see him throughout the land for meet and greets and character appearances.

After the exchange, Avengers Campus officially “activated,” with a show of fireworks. And then, the land was officially OPEN! The opening ceremony was incredible from start to finish, and we can’t WAIT to learn more about what Avengers Campus has in store. We’ll keep you posted with the latest, so stay tuned to DFB!
