When Walt Disney World began its phased reopening, many of the restaurants opened with Mobile Order.
As more and more restaurants have reopened, Mobile Order has basically become the new norm. So, gone are the days that you could go a day without your cell phone in the parks (did anyone ever do that though?!). Mobile Order lets you read through the menu in the My Disney Experience app, order, pay, and then be greeted with your meal ready to go when you arrive. The system certainly isn’t without flaws, but we’ve adapted to ordering our lunch from our little screens. And, today, we spotted a new feature at one of the restaurants as we were ordering.
When we were hanging out at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, we decided to swing by Centertown Market and pick up something to eat. We’re glad that we swung by the restaurant before placing our order because we spotted a Mobile Order sign we haven’t seen before.
The sign instructs you to select “Dine-In” or “Take Out” when you’re ordering so that they can have the meal prepared for you in exactly the way you want it when you arrive. If you select “Dine In”, your food will come on a plate and, if you select “To Go”, it will come in a box. And, we got to see what this looks like in the app when we ordered! First, you’ll select your arrival time and what you want to order. When you get to the Order Summary screen, you’ll have to select your Packaging Option.
Click on whichever one works best for you and you’ll see that listed in the Packaging Option box!
When your food is ready, it will come out in the packaging you choose. You can find a seat and eat in, or head off to your next adventure with the food in tow! We know, we know, we ordered the Romaine Salad (which is very unlike us and our sweet tooth) but we’ve got to eat some greens every once in a while! And, thanks to the new packaging option, it came out just right! Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
