You never know what sort of Disney news will drop at any given moment!
From iconic lands beginning to fade away to company executive change-ups and even multimonth closures, the amount of Disney news we cover each week is surprising! It can be a lot to keep up with, so we’re wrapping it all up by breaking down the three biggest news stories from this week.
CEO Changes
As of March 18th, 2026, Josh D’Amaro — formerly the Charmian of the Disney Experiences division of the Company — is Disney’s new CEO. The baton has been passed down from Bob Iger.
During the 2026 Disney Shareholder Meeting held on March 18th, 2026, Disney addressed the transition from Iger to D’Amaro. Iger came on and had nothing but kind words to say about D’Amaro as he takes over the role. Iger said, “I believe in Josh D’Amaro,” along with “I will be cheering on Josh, Dana, and all of you as I sail off into the sunset.” After a long career, Iger is heading home and is ready to retire. We’re excited to see what Josh will do as the new CEO!

NEW Cruise Ship
We also got a huge announcement out of Disney Cruise Line — there’s a NEW ship coming our way, and it’s called the Disney Believe!
This new ship will focus on “powerful tales of characters who believe in themselves and their dreams,” and include IP and details from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and more. It’s expected to set sail in 2027, which means we only have one more year to wait!

Movie Sequels
For those who loved the Lilo & Stitch live-action film that released in 2025, we’ve got fantastic news — Disney just announced when the sequel film will be on its way! However, we do have quite a while to wait, as it won’t release until May 26th, 2028. We’ll be anxiously awaiting the day it releases, that’s for sure!
That’s not the only film we found out will be coming to theaters in 2028, though. Disney also revealed that Incredibles 3 is on the way! This new film will come out on June 26th, 2028, so just about a month after the new Lilo & Stitch film. We’ll be in the theaters a lot that summer, it seems, but we’re not complaining!
We’ll be on the lookout for even more Disney news you need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more!

The ultimate move Josh can make is stopping sharing the stage with the hated woke Igor. Say goodbye Josh once and for all
I was hoping that the big announcement was
1. Bringing Back the FREE FAST PASS
2.Bringing Back the Magical Express
3. Bringing Back The DISABILITY without the need to be HALF DEAD
From the Merriam -Webster dictionary, “Woke is now defined in this dictionary as “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).
You kinda sound like that’s a bad thing.
I know that quite a few things have sailed away (like the Rivers of America)-Free Fast Pass, Magical Express, etc. Now package delivery would be a nice thing to see brought back.
