Six Flags has announced upcoming closures of multiple parks, and now Six Flags St. Louis could be in danger, according to local Fox2Now news.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair merged to create Six Flags Entertainment Corporation in 2024, and the company reported a $100 million net loss in its second quarter, along with decreased attendance.

Back in August, Disney made numerous announcements at the 2025 Destination D23 event, touching on every corner of the company from films, television, and — our focus today — their theme parks. In fact, to a 30-year visitor to the Magic Kingdom like myself, the biggest announcements had to do with two changes I’ve been waiting ages for.
If you’re traveling to Disney World and you’re planning to drive or rent a car at the airport, you’ll need to know about parking at Disney World hotels, as well as the theme parks.
Bring Disney to your car!
For example, you’ll need to know that you can’t drive directly to Magic Kingdom — instead, you have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and take the Monorail to Magic Kingdom. However, there are two unspoken parking rules that we see people breaking ALL the time, so we wanted to give you a heads up to make parking at Disney World a little easier and more convenient.
Many factors go into planning a Disney World trip, including planning hotel stays, dining reservations, and Lightning Lanes, but it all begins with choosing what time of year to go!

Over my 30+ years of visiting Disney theme parks, I’ve been at all different times of year, and some are definitely better than others. And, despite what the perception may be, it’s not simply a case of “the summer is busy” and the “winter is an offseason” anymore. Like many elements of the Disney experience, the question of when to visit has become more complicated.
I literally get paid to go to Disney World for my job, so it’s safe to say that I spend more time in theme parks than the average person.

I’m in the parks at least once a week, clocking tens of thousands of steps, eating theme park snacks, battling the Central Florida weather, and taking seemingly one million pictures and videos while doing all of the above. It’s an absolutely spectacular job that I wouldn’t trade for any other career…but sometimes those theme parks can be BRUTAL. And recently, one Central Florida park nearly took me out!

You’re brain might automatically go to Disneyland or Disney World (hi Disney Adults!), or maybe Universal Studios if all you think about is rides. If we’re including food and nostalgia, Disneyland should take the prize, right?
