Summer is on the way. Heat is kicking in, and we are just weeks away from some really big openings all over Disney World. Is this weekend going to be a teaser for what’s to come?
It isn’t even Halloween yet, but before we know it, Christmas will hit Disney World with a wave of twinkling lights and massive decorated trees. After Christmas comes New Year’s Eve, which is a huge celebration in the parks — who wouldn’t want to party it up with Mickey Mouse for the new year?

If you’re planning on coming for the holidays and haven’t booked your ticket yet, you might want to confirm your plans because reservations are starting to fill up, which might leave you outside the castle for New Year’s.

Disney Starlight crowds!
It’s no secret that Magic Kingdom is buzzing right now, thanks to the incredible debut of “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away!” The show premiered on July 20th to plenty of fanfare, drawing in some hefty crowds. There’s a HUGE change coming to Magic Kingdom, and really, we aren’t talking about it enough.

No one is more excited for the nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, debuting on Main Street on July 20th, than we are. However, because this parade is expected to be extremely popular, Disney is making a significant change to their reservation system. If you’re planning to catch the parade on opening day, make sure you know the details!
Breaking this rule in Disneyland in 2025 could lead to some serious consequences.
Disneyland
When the Disney Parks in the United States reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic, they did so with a with a reservation system installed. This system required guests to not only have tickets, but to also manually make park day reservations online in order to gain access to the parks of their choice. Disney installed this process in an effort to manage crowds more effectively during a time where there was more of an emphasis on capacity and social distancing. While the park reservation system is long gone from Disney World, it still remains at the Disneyland Resort. While it doesn’t affect tourists too much (getting reservations can be tricky but it’s much easier in 2025 than it was back during the pandemic), Magic Key Holders need to be aware of a major rule that the Resort will continue to enforce for the forseeable future.
We have been seeing some unusual trends in Disney World parks crowds, and we noticed more strangeness going on today in Animal Kingdom.
Animal Kingdom
A few weeks ago, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios were sold out. It is rare to see Animal Kingdom sold out while reservations still remain for EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Usually, Animal Kingdom is one of the last to sell out. But here we are again — seeing a similar trend at Animal Kingdom today!
There are a few days out of the year that we all expect Disney World to be busy.

Those are days like New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and other major holidays. While those days are expected to be busy, other days can randomly pop up on the calendar that bring large crowds. And speaking of random days, we thought we would give you a heads-up on two upcoming days that you’ll want to be aware of!
