Universal’s newest theme park officially opens on May 22nd, 2025, but the park is already running previews, so we’ve been checking out the park every chance we get. One of the biggest issues we’ve seen during these previews is the controversial Virtual Queue system, but will it be your problem when the park opens? Big changes may indicate a no!
The brand-new, insanely innovative and thrilling Epic Universe park opens on May 22nd, but we have been able to visit the park several times through previews, so we are sharing our top 3 favorite rides!

The level of technology you’ll find here is impressive, and we can’t wait for this park to fully open soon. We’ve been spending a lot of time at Epic Universe lately, and we’re not done yet!

Research is important, people, and we’re doing everything we can so you can have the best trip possible once you visit Epic Universe. Part of that research includes chatting with Epic Universe Team Members to find out the ins and outs of the park and what tips you need to know. And, we think we may have stumbled upon the best ones yet — at least when it comes to one of the most popular rides in the park.
Epic Universe is SO close to opening; we can taste it! Well, actually, we were recently lucky enough to visit Epic Universe and see all the lands and ride some rides ahead of its opening.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
Now, one ride in particular, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, left our jaw on the floor, and we’re pretty sure it’s going to be the most popular ride in the whole park — it even has a queue that can hold up to several hours’ worth of guests. Well, a 10-hour wait for a ride is impossible for a lot of folks, so will there be a solution? During a recent visit to the park, we noticed that a virtual queue has been put in place during Team Member previews, so most visitors won’t have to stand in line for hours to get a ride on the new attraction during this soft-opening phase.
Well, we’ve finally checked out Epic Universe…and, well, all we have to say is that it lives up to its “Epic” name. We spent so much time in Epic Universe with our jaws on the floor, y’all…you have no idea.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic
We still can’t get over how it felt like stepping into the movie when we visited How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk or what it felt like meeting Toothless IN THE FLESH. We also loved the darker vibes of Dark Universe and still can’t get over all the amazing details in Monsters Unchained. We almost cried stepping into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, especially after riding Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, but there was one thing that bugged us about this land…let’s talk about it.

Universal Epic Universe is set to open in May 2025 and we can’t wait! There are going to be five different lands to explore, along with dozens of attractions, restaurants, entertainment offerings, and shops. Today, September 1st, is “Back to Hogwarts” day — the day Harry Potter heads back to Hogwarts for school each year. This marks a special day every year for Harry as he gets to return to the only place that has ever felt like home to him. The magnificent castle is a special place for Harry and all of us Harry Potter fans. While we can visit Hogwarts at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, we’ll also soon be able to visit the awe-inspiring Ministry of Magic, and Universal just released brand-new details about the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter on this special day!
