We have the coolest news ever!
If you’re obsessed with Hollywood Studios like us, especially the original version, which focused on being an animation studio, we have big, big news for you.
Hollywood Studios just got a little cooler—and we mean that literally and figuratively.
Cool Kid Summer has officially landed across all four Disney World parks, and there’s a lot happening. From special entertainment and roaming characters to snacks and dancing, the energy is big this year. We took a walk through Hollywood Studios to check it all out, and let’s just say, Disney didn’t hold back. Here’s what you need to know if you’re heading that way this summer.
Major changes are hitting Disney’s Hollywood Studios next week! Not one, but TWO new attractions will debut on May 27th.
One of these attractions is a reimagining of the old Voyage of the Little Mermaid show called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure.” We’ve seen some of the show elements we’ll see, and Disney also teased that never-before-seen characters are coming to the show. We also know that this new attraction will be available with Lightning Lane Multi Pass — here’s what you need to know.
For years now, one of the best places for younger kiddos in Hollywood Studios has been Animation Courtyard.
This is where they’ll find the Disney Junior Play and Dance!, as well as meet and greets with some of their favorite Disney Junior pals like Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, Pluto, and more. However, big changes are coming this summer for Disney’s Cool Kid Summer event, and we know that the Disney Junior Play and Dance! party would become temporarily unavailable, but now there’s another update — those popular meet and greets have MOVED.
Disney World just revealed some upcoming showtimes AND confirmed Lightning Lane access for one of its upcoming attractions!

The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure
We’ve been eagerly counting down the days until one of Disney World’s newest shows debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While we’ve gotten a taste of some of the show elements we’ll see, and Disney also teased that never-before-seen characters are coming to the show, we now know a little bit more about when we should expect throughout the day! If you haven’t been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 10 years, you’re going to be pretty flabbergasted the next time you step into the park.
With additions in the past several years like Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, plus upcoming changes to Muppets Courtyard (insert sad trombone noise here) and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the park is pretty much going to be unrecognizable from its MGM Studios days. However, amidst all the somewhat controversial changes, we did get some pretty good news about this park!
Recently, Disney World announced that a classic Hollywood Studios attraction is CLOSING.
That’s right, we’ll soon be saying goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D and all of Muppets Courtyard as the area gets replaced with a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. As a consolation, Disney will be replacing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with a Muppets coaster. But even with that change, the loss of Muppet*Vision is pretty controversial — and fans have a lot of questions and concerns!

Oh, my word… have you HEARD about all of the HUGE CHANGES coming to the Disney World theme parks??
TWO new Cars-themed attractions are coming to Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, and a new Villains Land will be going “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain.” Pueblo Esperanza will open in 2027 in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, replacing DinoLand. And Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also getting a brand new Monsters, Inc. Land! Now, if you’re wondering where that’s going, too, the answer is… it’s complicated.

Between Disney World’s latest closure of an attraction to make way for a divisive villains show, adding a whole new rollercoaster centered around the Monstropolis world of Monster’s Inc., and teasing a revised beloved show in the works for this park, things are about to get very busy here. But, we recently spotted one more update to a change that we thought had kind of gone dormant until now!
A new attraction is coming to Disney World!
After Voyage of the Little Mermaid failed to reopen at Hollywood Studios after the pandemic-related closures, we were left wondering (for a WHILE) about what the fate of this show might be. Eventually, Disney shared that a new, reimagined show inspired by The Little Mermaid would take its place in the fall of this year. But, it doesn’t look like that will be the case any longer.
