Shanghai Disneyland
There are a lot of pieces in motion for Disney right now! There are reopenings scheduled to begin soon, ongoing government timelines, and special events coming down the road. Having trouble keeping track of it all?
These are the ten most important Disney dates you need to know!
Earlier this week, it was announced that Shanghai Disneyland will reopen on May 11th, and just yesterday Walt Disney World announced that Disney Springs will begin a phased reopening of the shopping and dining district on May 20th. However, aside from Shanghai Disneyland, all other Disney Parks remain closed until further notice due to the current global situation.

And an update on the Tokyo Disney Resort website reveals the closure of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea remains extended. While no official reopening date had been proposed, the website previously stated that a reopening date announcement would be determined in mid-May. [Read more…]

Of course, in light of the global situation which has resulted in closures of Disney Parks around the globe (with all others remaining closed until further notice at this time), today’s announcement brings further questions regarding HOW the parks will operate upon reopening. As restrictions are being eased in some states in the US including restaurants and stores in most parts of Florida, some countries are extending their lockdowns.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has just extended his nationwide state of emergency declaration until May 31st for every prefecture in Japan.
For much of this year, Disney World was closed due to the global health crisis. While we were happy to know that Disney is looking out for everyone’s safety, this news put quite a damper on several families’ vacation plans.

Since many of the parks won’t be reopening “until further notice,” we’ve all been anxiously waiting for any news about when we can set foot in Disney again (we just miss it so much!). And, it’s going to be a bit longer before guests can visit Tokyo Disneyland.
