Just a few years after their much-ballyhooed arrival in Florida, Kroger has announced that it’s closing their three eCommerce facilities in the state this coming January. In turn, the company will also be halting grocery delivery services in Florida as of February 1st.
The closures will see 943 employees in Groveland, 234 in Tampa, 181 in Jacksonville and 53 in Rockledge lose their jobs by February 1st, 2026, and will result in “impairment and related charges” of roughly $2.6 billion in the third quarter 2025 because of “the automated fulfillment network not meeting financial expectations.”
