We’re aboard the Disney Destiny checking out all there is to experience, and while we’re loving it all so far, there’s something that’s more hidden you CANNOT miss on your cruise.
There are tons of new characters to meet, entertainment to check out, and decor just to explore around the ship, but as the Disney Destiny is themed to heroes and villains, those are the experiences you’ll really want to seek out. Hidden on the ship is an experience with the one and only Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. We got a chance to check it out firsthand, and let’s just say, the wait for it is WORTH IT.
Tucked away in a secret spot on the Disney Destiny is Dr. Facilier’s Parlor, which is exactly what you’re thinking. It’s hard to find, so we asked a Cast Member for help, and it was clear that they’re trained to take you right to it, which is very helpful!

We lined up about 30 minutes before it began and were the second group to go in, and we waited 50 minutes in total. They take very small groups into the room, only about 10 people, and when we entered, Dr. Facilier was standing with his head down over a table with 3 chairs, and he certainly seemed menacing! There was soft jazz music playing, and we loved that the room was decked out in his purple and mauve colors.

In our group, he chose three people that he said had “intuition and the gift,” and then asked all three of them about themselves and if they felt they had the gift. He easily impressed the group with an up close parlor trick and lots of crowd work, and he did ask if there were any kids in the room before he asked one of the participants if they liked to “party” in New Orleans.

Overall, it felt like the character had literally come to life in front of us! We were so impressed with his outfit, his mannerisms. While the animated version of this character seems very over-the-top and animated, this version feels more grounded and realistic, which we really enjoyed. While it’s only a ten-minute experience, we highly recommend it if you’re a big fan of Disney Villains and want a unique, intimate experience.
