Though at first, you may think a trip to Disney World primarily involves rides and sunshine no matter the season, you may be surprised to find out how much your experience may differ depending on WHEN you go.

Walt Disney World in January
The New Year delivers some of the year’s coolest weather to Central Florida and welcomes EPCOT’s first Festival of the calendar year… and much more!
HERE are the dates to know for January 2026:
- EPCOT Festival of the Arts — January 16th – February 23rd, 2026
- The Disney on Broadway Concert Series comes back throughout the Festival of the Arts — January 16th – February 23rd, 2026
- Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend — January 7th – 11th, 2026
- January 26th — EPCOT’S Frozen Ever After will temporarily close until a date to-be-announced in February for updates to the attraction’s animatronics.
- New Year, New You! January is Wellness Month and Disney Springs hosts classes and offers discounts at select locations to celebrate.

Walt Disney World in February
February boasts some of the year’s best weather in Florida, plenty of sweet treats to celebrate your Valentine, and more.
If you’re traveling to Disney World in February 2026, HERE are some dates to know!
- ONGOING: EPCOT Festival of the Arts — January 16th – February 23rd, 2026
- ONGOING: The Disney on Broadway Concert Series comes back throughout the Festival of the Arts — January 16th – February 23rd, 2026
- February 1: The last day to experience DinoLand, U.S.A. (including the DINOSAUR attraction) in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- February 2: The DinoLand, U.S.A. permanently closes in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to accommodate construction for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza
- February 1st – 28th: Black History Month is honored with Celebrate Soulfully festivities!
- February 17th, 2026 is Mardi Gras Tuesday! Disney’s Port Orleans Resort hosts its annual Mardi Gras Pargo Parade.
- Be on the lookout for sweet treats for your Valentine, Galentine, or to treat yourself for Valentine’s Day around the Resort!
- The runDisney Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled for February 26 – March 2, 2026!

Walt Disney World in March
March delivers sure signs of SPRING to Disney World, from Spring Break crowds to the first full month of EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival and beyond.

- The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival — March 4th – June 1st, 2026
- Looking for the BEST way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) in Disney World? Raglan Road in Disney Springs hosts the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival ever year. According to Raglan Road, this is “the most authentic Irish festival in America.”
- And, of course, lots of snacks will be wearin’ GREEN for St. Patrick’s Day in March, too!

Walt Disney World in April
Spring, of course, is still in FULL SWING in April! And joining the popular Flower & Garden Festival are seasonal offerings like Animal Kingdom’s celebration of Earth Day and much more!

- ONGOING: The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival — March 4th – June 1st, 2026
- April 5th: Easter Sunday — You are bound to find plenty of themed treats for the occasion during the month, you can
- meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny in Magic Kingdom, and see a special PARADE in Magic Kingdom on Easter Weekend!
- Guests can also enjoy AMAZING Easter Egg displays by the culinary teams at select Resorts including Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Those famous “May Flowers” are still on display for the ongoing EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. And, of course, Memorial Day Weekend ushers in the unofficial start of SUMMER!

Summer break is ON in June in Walt Disney World! While you can expect rainstorms picking up for the summer season, you can also often anticipate extended hours in the parks to accommodate the increased crowd levels.

Celebrate Independence Day — and more — in Walt Disney World in July!
Important dates and happenings to know for July 2026 include the following:
- July 4th is Independence Day in the United States!
- Magic Kingdom will present 4th of July fireworks — “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” — for THREE NIGHTS in 2026, on July 3rd, 4th AND 5th.
- “Heartbeat of Freedom” is the special fireworks finale in EPCOT presented on July 4th immediately following the Luminous fireworks show. Stay tuned for 2026 confirmation!
- EPCOT also often celebrates the 4th of July with some VERY special character appearances ONLY on that date!

Walt Disney World in December
It’s called “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” around the globe… and that’s no less true of Walt Disney World in December! “Oh, what fun it is…”
Important dates and happenings to know for December 2025 include the following:
- ONGOING: The Holiday Season continues through December 31st, bringing with it stunning decorations, special events, an entire Holiday FESTIVAL, and — of course! — the best of the SEASON’S EATINGS (that means holiday SNACKS!) to celebrate The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
- ONGOING: November 7th – December 21st: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights in Magic Kingdom
- ONGOING: November 8th – December 22nd: Disney Jollywood Nights takes place on select nights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- ONGOING: November 28th – December 30th: EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
- The Candlelight Processional is a beloved tradition during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and runs for the duration of the event.
- December 22nd – 29th: Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will be presented at Magic Kingdom each night instead of Happily Ever After
- Magic Kingdom shows an exclusive New Year’s fireworks display, ‘Fantasy In The Sky’, on both December 30th and December 31st at two times each day, 7:30PM and 11:50PM.
- EPCOT also hosts a special New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacular each year on December 31st. Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration will take place at 11:54 PM to count down to the new year. Luminous: The Symphony of Us will still happen that night at 6:30 PM.
- Significant dates for the 2025 Holiday Season include:
- December 14th – December 22nd — Hanukkah
- December 24th — Christmas Eve
- December 25th — Christmas Day
- December 26th — Kwanzaa starts
- December 31st — New Year’s Eve
