Happy New Year from Disney World!

We’re ringing in 2024 the best way we know how — by celebrating in the parks, of course! As 2023 comes to an end, we’re taking in all the sights and sounds of Disney World as we know it. 2024 is sure to bring major changes to the parks and we can’t wait — but first, it’s time to check out EPCOT’s rare New Year’s Eve fireworks show!
You can only catch EPCOT’s New Year’s Eve fireworks show on December 31st (unlike the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Magic Kingdom, which run on December 30th as well), and it all kicked off around 11:50PM. Folks started gathering around World Showcase Lagoon much earlier than that, though!

Each of the World Showcase pavilions celebrated the New Year with music and lights. In the UK pavilion, there was a silent disco…

…and we stopped by the Italy pavilion to check out some music and lights.

Before we knew it, the countdown had begun! The countdown around World Showcase went in the order of the countries as they experienced the New Year in each of their time zones.

Just a few minutes before midnight, the New Year’s Eve fireworks show began!
