These days, there’s construction going on all OVER Disney World.
There are projects underway in all four parks to add new lands (like Villains Land and Tropical Americas), update attractions (like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster), and just conduct general maintenance. But we can’t forget about construction at the resorts! Recently, a new permit was filed for construction at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
The permit filed is an amendment to a notice of commencement. The permit was filed by Disney Vacation Club and has an address listed at the Wilderness Lodge. Under the description of work, the permit says “general construction.”
The address listed is just the main address for the resort, so it’s not specific enough to know if this construction will be on the exterior of the building or inside at one of the hotel’s offerings. The work will be done by Aim Strategic Group, LLC. According to IAAPA, “Aim Construction is a new commercial construction company that focuses on small-scale jobs with corporations and construction managers who want to empower women in the industry.”
We’ll be keeping an eye out at this hotel to see if there are any construction changes in the coming months, and we’ll let you know what happens. We do know that the boat dock at this hotel will be closed, with boat transportation suspended from April 13th through May 1st. That project will include general maintenance.
The hotel just completed a major refurbishment project last year, and we’ve finally seen the space unobstructed by scaffolding and construction equipment. It’s an absolutely stunning resort, so it’s refreshing to have unimpeded views as you walk the scenic pathways.
