Disney World is in a period of transition, including construction on new lands, refurbishments of old favorites, and some new dining hotspots!
Over the past year, Disney has opened some majorly popular spots, including GEO-82 (the Spaceship Earth-themed lounge at EPCOT), The Beak and Barrel (the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar at the Magic Kingdom), and The Perch (the gilded Victorian-themed lobby bar at the Grand Floridian).
Each of these new lounges opened to positive reviews and heavy demand, and still draw big crowds (though reservations for GEO-82 and Beak and Barrel are slightly easier to come by). Now, a new crop of spots have opened at Disney World, with several more on the way.
The Norway Snack Kiosk
Located in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion, this long-awaited location at the front of the pavilion offers several treats, including School Bread! This gives guests a second way to get their hands on the iconic treat, which is especially valuable since Norway is extra crowded with guests checking out the new animatronics added to Frozen Ever After.
Popcorn and Snacks
This new Toy Story Land stand offers — perhaps not shockingly — popcorn and snacks. Kidding aside, the new stand fits perfectly into the land’s theme as it’s been built to resemble a massive popcorn box turned on its side, with magic marker writing scribbled over it.
The menu offers familiar snacks like popcorn, ice cream bars, churros, and frozen lemonade, as well as Pizza Planet Spring Rolls. The stand also has alcoholic beverages.
CrazyShakes Pop-Up
For 90 days beginning in March, Disney Springs will be home to CrazyShakes. The former Sprinkles will house the Black Tap pop-up, which is offering a menu of specialty shakes, including the star of the show: The Special Edition Mickey Mouse Shake.
In addition, several more new spots are scheduled to open in the coming months, including:
- The new Tea Room experience at the Grand Floridian’s Garden View Lounge is opening March 19th. This new take on afternoon tea will be the first at the resort since the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
- Level99 is an interactive, social entertainment center featuring “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults, featuring physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. The location, which is taking over part of the site formerly occupied by the NBA Experience and DisneyQuest at Disney Springs, will also offer food and drink options at a 2-story bar, including “handcrafted cocktails, local beers and made-from-scratch bites—including LEVEL99’s signature Detroit-style pizza.” It’s scheduled to open in the spring.
- Six Ravens, a new concept from the company behind Gideon’s Bakehouse, is also coming to Disney Springs this year. According to owner Steve Lewis, the locations will be focused on savory offerings, specializing in “Coffyns.” Described as an “old school hand pie”, the fluffy yeast bread pastry will be “filled with flavors created not only by the talented minds in Gideon’s kitchen but also by some of your favorite Orlando culinary superstars.” Six Ravens will also serve savory potatoes, local draft beer, and, obviously, “some tasty desserts.”
Disney World is brimming with new dining spots across its parks, resorts, and Disney Springs area. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on everything new at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
