Things are getting really exciting over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Soon, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will reopen as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets. Animation Courtyard is getting some changes to become The Walt Disney Studios.

Hollywood Studios
With all of these changes, there is a lot of unknown of exactly what to expect when these new things open. But Disney does give us concept art to help give us some ideas! With concept art, Disney can hide things right in plain sight. That’s why we can’t stop thinking about this one detail in the Monstropolis concept art.
Construction is well underway for the new Monsters, Inc. Land at Hollywood Studios. When we first got the concept art and news of the new area, Disney said it would include a “whole new theater show,” and we immediately started speculating about what that could mean.
At first, we figured the new show could be an entirely original concept. Maybe a brand-new Monsters, Inc. story told through a high-tech, immersive experience? But then we took a closer look at that concept art, and guess what we found? Tucked away near what used to be Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, there’s a sign that looks VERY familiar. If you squint just right, you’ll see what appears to be a Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor sign hiding in plain sight!
For those who don’t know, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is an interactive comedy show currently over in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. It’s been entertaining guests for years with its unique format, featuring animated monsters cracking jokes in real time (thanks to some very cool technology and live performers).
So, could Disney be planning to close the Magic Kingdom version and move the show over to Hollywood Studios, giving it a fresh home in Monsters, Inc. Land? If so, we’re curious to see whether the show remains the same or if Disney gives it an upgrade with new tech, fresh jokes, and an updated storyline.
While the area is walled off to guests, we are able to see parts of the construction, including the old theater that held Muppet Vision 3D. They have started to change the facade of the front of the theater and the clock tower.

In the concept art, you can see that “The Glob” will be the new name of the theater. It will feature a new elaborate sign on the front of the theater where the work is currently being done. Could we soon see The Glob sign come to life?

We can also see an aerial view of the whole area, thanks to @bioreconstruct on X. There is a lot of prep work being done right now that will one day take shape as the new monsters area.

We are also able to get a closer look at the new building that will house the suspended rollercoaster for Monstropolis! This is the space for the hanging door roller coaster, which will let you ride just like Mike, Sulley, and Boo. It will be the first of its kind for Disney World. So we are getting a new attraction and a theater show — we can’t wait!

While Disney hasn’t confirmed anything yet, they love to keep us guessing. This could be a clever little Easter egg meant to tease us, or it could be a full-blown announcement hidden in plain sight. Either way, we’re officially on high alert for more news about this mysterious new theater show. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest from Disney.

Yes, I think it is a Great Idea! And maybe they could add a section Space Rangers like
They did Toy Story Mania!!!
Oh I hope they are moving Laugh Floor to HS! The organizer in me likes to see nice, tidy lands with everything monsters inc themed all in one place. Plus, I feel like that means we get could get something new in MK, right? I would not be mad about that!
It would be a smart idea to move Laugh Floor to the Monsters, Inc. in Hollywood Studios. I have enjoyed the show many times and I would love to see my grandchildren experience the show, and maybe be caught on camera. We need new experiences in Magic Kingdom, and not something that takes 4 years to build.
I really hope Monsters Inc Laugh Floor doesn’t move to HS. I’m not a big fan of the show, so I hope they bring something original to the theater in Monstropolis. I wouldn’t be sad if they replaced it in MK either.
