Walking miles and miles around Disney World is much easier said than done. Ever been on day two of your week-long vacation and realize you’re already hurting? Yeah, we’ve been there.
That’s why it’s super important to choose shoes that you’ve broken in previously, and you know will support your feet instead of causing additional pain. Don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered — these are two essentials we think are VERY important to have when you know you may experience some foot pain on your vacation.
The Right Shoes
We know, we know, HOKA shoes are EXPENSIVE. We’ve seen those price tags, and they make us do a double-take every time as well. However, we’ve tried these ourselves numerous times, especially these HOKA Clifton 10s, and they really are the shoes that won’t let you down. They’re comfortable, supportive, come in lots of different colors and styles, so you can find the one that’s perfect for you, and you won’t have to worry about your feet killing you starting on day 2.
There’s a reason you see people in these ALL over Disney World, including Cast Members! We’ve also seen lots of workers in other places wear them, especially if they’re on their feet a lot (like working in a hospital, in retail, etc.). And think of this — if you wear shoes that AREN’T supportive on a vacation you’ve already spent so much money on, and your feet start to hurt so bad you can’t do all you wanted to, then you’re basically wasting money already spent.
Support Your Back
If you’re traveling to Disney World with a large group, or you’re otherwise wearing a large backpack, those things can get HEAVY super quick. Soon, it won’t only be your feet hurting, especially if you struggle with good posture. That’s where the VentaPak comes in! It attaches to your existing backpack (works best with larger backpacks — be sure to pay close attention to the dimensions to be sure it’ll fit ahead of time), and helps you ensure you’ve got the correct posture to keep yourself pain-free.
It’ll also help keep more airflow between you and the bag, avoiding that uncomfortable sweat patch that often forms at any time of year, but especially in the summertime (and then you walk into a restaurant and the AC is BLASTING, you’re suddenly freezing? Not fun!). It’s helped us a ton more than we expected for it, too, and we found that when we took it off and accidentally forgot it at home, we regretted it pretty quickly.
We’re in the parks every day to bring you the latest news, updates, and suggestions to help make sure your trip runs as smoothly as possible, so stay tuned to DFB!
