CONFIRMED: Changes Hit a Popular Disney Ride This Week

A HUGE celebration is coming to Disney California Adventure. This park’s 25th anniversary will bring a ton of new and returning experiences we can’t wait to check out!

But we might be most excited about a ride change that’s starting THIS WEEK! That’s right, Soarin’ Over California is returning to Disney California Adventure, and it all starts on February 6th.

Disney’s Soarin’ Over California is returning to Disney California Adventure as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration! This fan-favorite, opening day attraction will start on February 6th and run through July 1st, 2026. Set to a serene and dramatic musical score, take a virtual tour of the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, Palm Springs, downtown Los Angeles, and more in this iconic ride.

After that, though, a brand-new version of Soarin’ will make its way to the park! Soarin’ Across America will begin on February 2nd. Disney hasn’t shared many details about this iteration of the ride, but did say that the iconic Soarin’ scenery will showcase some of the country’s recognizable cityscapes and natural beauty.

Typically, during the Food & Wine Festival, Disney switches Soarin’ to the original version — Soarin’ Over California. That will still be the case this time around, since the 2026 Food & Wine Festival is set to take place from March 6th to April 27th.

These aren’t the only changes coming to California Adventure for the anniversary, though. On February 6th, Mickey and Minnie will have all-new vibrant outfits with sun motifs as they meet guests on Buena Visita Street. They’ll be wearing these outfits, which are a nod to the park’s history, for a limited time, so you’ll want to grab a photo with them ASAP.

There’s also special celebratory food, including the Cake Shake at Schmoozies! This is a confetti shake with strawberry icing, sprinkles, whipped topping, and a slice of cake.

A new interactive popcorn bucket is also coming to California Adventure. The Pixar Pal-A-Round Bucket will react with changing colors and lighting patterns to select locations in the park. You’ll be able to grab it as of February 6th, and well, we think this baby will sell out fast!

If you visit California Adventure on its actual anniversary date, February 8th, you’ll be able to grab a special commemorative map for FREE while they last. So you’ll certainly want to rope drop for that!
