If you’re an avid Disney Food Blog reader, you know we’ve basically become construction experts at Hollywood Studios by now. Between the new Monsters, Inc land and the upcoming Walt Disney Studios, there’s so much news to cover. So when our bestie @bioreconstruct posted construction updates, we had to share!
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard already has some new sidewalk construction and a temporary tent along the former Star Wars: Launch Bay. They finished the sidewalk along Disney Jr, which connects to the prettiest NEW trees!
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard is making some great construction progress. Since our update last week, they’ve added new trees along the central courtyard and the walkway in front of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure. There’s also a new walkway beside Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! that’s connecting the building’s sidewalk to the trees.
The new Walt Disney Studios Courtyard will open late this summer with three new attractions: Disneyland’s Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will make its East Coast debut, and the two brand-new attractions are Drawn to Wonderland playground and The Magic of Disney Animation. Based on Disney’s concept art, the area is already shaping up nicely for a summer opening.
The main attraction of the Walt Disney Studios courtyard will be The Magic of Disney Animation. It’s modeled after the Disney Animation Studios headquarters, where some of our favorite characters have taken over! There will be an Animation Experience where you’ll learn to draw Disney characters with animators. Plus, there are meet-and-greets with six characters, and they’ve confirmed the characters we have currently are Mulan and Rapunzel.
We’re so excited for the new Walt Disney Studios courtyard to open this summer. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Hollywood Studios updates!
