NEWS: Disney Files Permit For MORE Hollywood Studios Changes

There is a lot of construction happening in Disney World, and it doesn’t look like it’s set to stop anytime soon. It seems like we’re seeing new projects pop up a lot recently for Disney World, in addition to the projects that began last year, like the new lands, the Magic Kingdom expansion, hotel updates, and more. We’re even getting a brand NEW hotel.

Driving to Hollywood Studios

Well, construction is about to strike again at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which already has two huge projects happening right now: a reimagining of Animation Courtyard and a brand new Monsters, Inc. land. Well, just outside the park, the toll plaza for Hollywood Studios also seems to be getting a big update soon.

Some construction work is set to happen at the toll plaza that leads into Hollywood Studios’ parking lot. This is the entrance you see when you drive to Hollywood Studios. A new permit has been filed for “general construction” of the address associated with that area. It seems like the toll plaza might be sporting a new look soon!

This could look different soon.

This means that you might see construction when driving to Hollywood Studios, or even when you’re taking a Disney bus to the park. This could also slow down traffic as construction could close parts of the toll plaza, limiting traffic through it. So if you’re headed to Hollywood Studios once this work begins, you’ll want to give yourself a little extra time to get to the park, just in case!

The work is being done by PCL Construction Services, Inc., which specializes in both general construction and fabrication and themed work. In the past, the company has worked with Disney World, Universal Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida, SeaWorld, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

We don’t know exactly what kind of work will be done on the toll plaza, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for construction and will keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
