Epic Universe is getting closer and closer to its first anniversary! Universal’s newest theme park was a major hit in 2025 thanks to its thrilling rides, tasty food, and detailed themeing.

We were huge fans of the park, and it seems like Universal isn’t slowing down anytime soon. After noticing new permits in November 2025, construction has started at Epic Universe.

Universal’s newest theme park hasn’t even been open for a year yet, and somehow expansion plans are already on the horizon! Even during the park’s initial construction, rumors were circulating about when the highly anticipated park would add more, but even we couldn’t have anticipated that construction would kick off so soon.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

The park has several expansion pads, which will serve as potential new lands in the park or expansions of current lands. Below, you can see an expansion pad behind Stardust Racers and next to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Below, you can see the expansion pad for Celesital Park. Bioreconstruct, who provided these ariel photos, added a yellow arrow to the photo to point out a recently added construction fence. This construction fence is in front of a fenct that has been in place since the park opened in May 2025.

There are building materials are on location, although Universal hasn’t hinted at to what they’re for. We wouldn’t be surprised if this is connected to a Celestial Park expansion! In November, Universal filed a permit that indicated something new is coming to the parks and it will likely be guest facing, meaning it isn’t somthing that only Team Members will see.

Bioreconstruct also shared a view of the flyover that included this potential addition to Celestial Park, a fireworks launch site, and current views of the expansion pads within the park. Universal has recently filed a trademark for a nighttime show in Celestial Park, so we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for updates in this area already.
