Exciting news out of Disney to start your day off on a super fun note — we just got a look at one of the newly refreshed scenes coming to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!

This attraction closed for a lengthy refurbishment back in August 2025 and is set to open in the spring of 2026. The refurbishment adds lots of refreshed elements to the ride, such as the ride vehicles and new cordless blasters, but we just got a look at what one of the final scenes of the ride will look like after its refurb!
In a new video released by Walt Disney Imagineering on Instagram, we got a look at one of the final scenes of the ride and heard from two Imagineers about how it’s been changed. The biggest difference? Buzz has now been added to this final battle against Zurg!

Brand new media is being installed for this Hyperspace scene, including Zurg releasing space mines that the riders can shoot to get more points. To create this scene inside the tunnel, Imagineers created a grid that was all flattened out to animate the scene on, but then, when it’s projected into the tunnel, it all looks how it should!

It’s all looking incredible from the little bit we got to see in this quick video, and we can’t wait to ride the updated attraction ourselves later this year and experience it firsthand.

That’s not all, though! We also got a look at an all-new scene coming to the attraction on Good Morning America, thanks to WDWMagic. The little green aliens are getting us ready to go into outer space — look how cute they are!
