If you’re riding Test Track in EPCOT, don’t make the mistakes we did!
This popular thrill ride was recently revamped for the second time, making Test Track 3.0. Since then, it has been pretty popular, and fans are lining up in droves to check it out. But we’ve made some mistakes when riding Test Track in the past that we want to help you avoid!
The Single Rider Line Can Save a LOT of Time
One thing that has stayed consistent with the new version of Test Track is the single rider queue. A few thrill rides in Disney World have single rider queues, and while some are great…others are time wasters. But Test Track? Its single rider queue is SUPREME.
We’ve used the single rider queue here many times, and it often cuts the wait time down significantly. You’ll be split from your party, but if you can avoid waiting in an hour-plus queue, it could be worth it! Plus, the regular queue isn’t so interesting that we’d call it a must-do to wait standby.
Why This Hollywood Studios Single Rider Line Is a Blessing and a Curse
It’s More Popular Than You Think!
Don’t go strolling into EPCOT thinking that you’ll just walk right on Test Track…this ride is POPULAR. Not only does it often have waits over an hour (sometimes 2 hours on really busy days), but it’s also a Tier 1 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection.
What does that mean? Well, when you make your initial Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections for EPCOT, you’ll be able to choose one attraction from Tier 1 and two attractions from Tier 2. That means you’ll have to choose between Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After for your initial Tier 1 selection. After you use your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection of the day, the tiers “disappear,” but that’s still some pressure to make the right choice when you book.

An Old School Jump Scare Is Still There
Remember the scene with the large semi truck where it used to pop out of seemingly nowhere and scare you as you rode around the corner in your test car? Well, it’s still there in the new version of the ride!
So if you have a small child who’s sensitive to jump scares, you may want to warn them before boarding the ride, or right before the scene takes place. It may also be a good idea to have them sit in the middle seat of the vehicle.
8 Deeply Unsettling Rides in Disney World
There’s ONE Item You Need to Bring
If there’s ONE item you need to pack in your park bag for riding Test Track, it’s a hair tie! Seriously, we’ve made the mistake one too many times of wearing our hair down on this ride, only to end up with a rat’s nest after the outdoor speed portion of the attraction.
If you want to be extra cautious, it’s a good idea to pack a small hairbrush in your park bag as well. That way, if you do end up with tangles, you’ll be able to smooth everything out and go on with your day looking fabulous. This was a lesson learned the hard way.
